Last Two Letters Start The Next Word

Ays (apparently an alternate spelling for 'ayes', which is the spelling I'd always choose)

Or the game has come to an end.

Or somebody finds an actual word beginning with Ys.

Or we look for a word beginning with Ways

Or we hope 2025 brings a new word into existence.

Aunty Google to the rescue! (again)

She has come up with Ysame.
"Ysame" is a Middle English word that comes from "y-" and "samen", or possibly from the Old English word *ġesaman, which is a variation of the Old English word "saman" meaning "together". Credit to Google AI.

I did find a bunch of words beginning YS- when I googled but I didn't recognise any of them so figured they were made-up words or maybe computer programs or something weird.
I didn't realise we could use Middle English words on here. A whole new world opens up! And this particular game thread is saved :yahoo:

Old English has quite a lot in common with German (or more likely with older versions of German), so those on this thread who are also on Learning Languages thread may be interested to know that 'zusammen' means 'together' in modern German. I am certainly interested to know that there was *gesaman in OE
