Specialist Kidney stone in male guinea pig

I'm looking at buying some glucosamine powder. What is the best way to give this to Mickey? Is this best sprinkled into the mushed pellets/critical care mix? What dosage and for how long please?

I just wanted to let you all know that Mickey had his surgery yesterday which was successful and the vet removed a huge bladder stone. Picture attached. He thankfully made it and has survived the first 24 hours, so my vet tells me he has a good fighting chance.

I now have the critical care mix and he's still on his meds until he has his stitches removed in 10 days. I've also bought the Oxbow urinary support biscuits which contain glucosamine for continued support.

Thank you all again for your guidance.

I was thinking about you and mickey yesterday and wondered how things had gone.
I’m glad all is well. I hope he has a good recovery

That is BIG! Poor boy, I’m glad it’s gone. Best wishes and I hope he recovers well.

Glad things are looking positive for him. So glad I spotted that mistake when you put kidney stone instead of bladder (easy one to make).

You might find that he won't eat the glucosamine biscuit things, and cystease has much more glucosamine in it.

Hope he carries on doing well x👍

Yes, spotting that could have saved his life! TY 🙏
