Hi just wondering if anyone can help me out, one of my guinea pigs has been bleeding from her rear, we have taken her to the vets were they did an x-ray on her, they saw something and said it could just be her poop, today my partner found that she had been pooping out these things that look like jelly beans, they're soft and kind of squishy like a sponge, they're dark red in colour, we took her right back to the vet and they have no idea what it is, they said that it is definitely not stones, I hope someone can help me.

Has the vet checked her reproductive tract? It is more likely coming from there (ovarian cysts or womb).
It looks rather like blood clots to me.

The vet has done no checks. Just prescribed antibiotics. I never thought about blood clots, the vets did not mention anything, they just said it could be some sort of growth which are now being pushed out.

All we can do is guess even more than your vet. I have tagged in some more experienced forum members but they are both very people, it may be some time until they can come on here.

Whereabouts do you live?, we can maybe reccomend a more experienced vet

We live in Preston, Lancashire. Our vets are normally quite good! But the vet I've seen today I have never seen before at the vets so I'm unsure if she's new.

Thank you very much. I hope we can find something out soon!

Maybe not your regular vet, perhaps a locum that stands in for many vet practices, using your practice as a surgery cover for Sunday’s. Hope you find out what’s wrong, sending healing vibes x

These look like either clots or bits of tissue. I would be suspicious of a uterus issue such a tumour (which are most commonly benign but can bleed). It would be worth getting your piggie an ultrasound to image the uterus and the bladder to check both for abnormalities and go from there.

Hope this helps.

Ohh looks like blood clouts I would go back to the doctors and get checked out and Mabey get some meds and if anything else happens it may be best to put her down

Are they kind of congealed in texture? They do look l like potential blood clots. It can be hard to determine where they are coming from. I would wonder if there is a uterine problem, perhaps? I hope you're able to get to a vet and get some answers. Save them to let the vet get a look at them in person when you get there (you can keep them in the fridge in a ziplock bag if needed.) Best of luck!
