This was taken a fortnight ago on the 27th August Kelly. As you can see all her skin lesions have now cleared but I must ask our vet to check her teeth when she goes up today. A big thank you for the hugs and your friendship. :)

Awww, she's beautiful, Diane. A real credit to you for getting the right help for her. You should be so pleased of yourself. I'm sure that Marble is ever so thankful to you :)
I'm here always for you :)

The solvent in the ivomec is a nasty one which makes the piggies squeal with pain. It isn't the jab that does it, other injections are not as painful. This is why I prefer to give it orally. The dose is tiny so I give it as drips off the end of a needle.

I have just given Rocky a dose or oral Ivomec. Seemed much happier with it then with the needle! Diane, your piggie is lovely xx

I have never had Ivomec before for my piggies.... but thought I would get some in and start a regime of treatment every 6 months, which seems to be the done thing... So I rang the vets and asked if I could get some oral ivomec.... explained why I need it etc., but the receptionist/telephonist told me that because it was a POM I would have to bring at least a couple of my pigs in for the vet to check over before a prescription would even be considered.... of course they would be charging me a consultation fee too .... Grrrr... Anyone know how to get hold of Ivomec easily? I would love to know!....

I'm in exactly the same boat!
I have 5 piggies, and 13 buns...so would really like to have some ivomec in (I used to have a supply given to me from a good friend, who got it from a local farm..however, he's stopped keeping animals due to health...and now my supply has ran out :( ).

I really need to get hold of some more...does anyone know where I can get it?
If someone could pm me the dosages too (it's been a while since I treated...I used to treat on the back of the neck), I'd be so so soooo grateful!

Thanks in advance :)

I need to get hold of some too, I live in Lancashire, any idea of where to go? Or can it be got online?

Kathryn xx

May I please have details. Did have a stash but ran out in March. I always dose on the back of the neck. My vet is now the same wants to see the piggies and charge and Ive just had a horrendous vets bill :'( . I had mine from a friend who is a vet but she has now moved broad.

Hi there, I have four guineas and have been back & forth to the vets for treatment for mites, could someone let me know the web address to buy Ivomec from in the UK as I want to start dosing them every 6mths @ home? Thanks a lot

[colorr]Morators not

I am locking this thra for now as thr ar consirabl risks involv in slf micating pigs in this way. Ivomc coms in svral iffrnt forms that must b aministr in iffrnt ways using iffrnt osags tc. An ovr or unr os or a os givn in th wrong form coul b vry angrous. PEASE o not us such a powrful prouct on your pigs without vts avic as th consquncs coul b vastating.
