well one of my Females Suke and her son Babaru both have a fourth toe on there back legs I was wondering is there any problems with them or are they alright?
I wonder if polydactyly (extra toes) is a genetic problem, given that both mother and son have the same condition.
How loosely/well attached are the toes to the foot, and how well formed?
I know polydaktyly is quite common in cuy guineas. I don't know how common those are in GB and if your piggis could have cuy ancestors? (well obviously they would... but I mean close)
well they are abysinnian breed guinea pigs that much I can tell by the crazy hairdo if its common in them I don't know?
I do wonder if this is more prevalent in abys/aby mixes because my boy is an aby/peru.
Does anyone know?
The only ones I've had here were badly inbred and were smooth haired piggies. None of them had a problem with the extra toes, even though some were held on by a very thin piece of skin and very dangly!
