Hi! Please see a vet as soon as possible!

Guinea pigs cannot throw up. They are a rodent and as all rodents, they don't have a vomit reflex. It can be that something is stuck in their mouths and it is worth having that checked. Have you fed carrot or coloured peppers in the days before you noticed your orange goo?

Crusty eyes are either a sign of a respiratory tract infection (URI) or an eye injury/infection. Either needs needs prompt vet attention. Please note that URI crust are thick yellowish and green. Watery/clear crusts are a sign of an irritant in the eye. If you piggy is constantly weeping or closing its eye, then it has got something stuck under the lid or it has a non-ulcerating perforation. Milky crusts are simply eye cleaning fluid (guinea pigs don't blink) and are nothing to worry about.

Increased itching needs to be checked for parasites (invisible mange mites, which burrow their eggs into the increasingly painful and inflamed skin; invisible hay mites, which fix their tiny egg cases to the hairs especially at the bum end; lice, which are tiny crawling white/yellowish things) or a fungal skin infection. They can all look similar in the early stages, but require different treatment.
Please do not treat on spec with a cheap low-dosed broad spectrum shop product which can only temporarily suppress, but not clear the issue. You vet will not thank you if you treat before seeing them and making their a lot more difficult!

Thank you so very much I will do so but there is a small problem ...my guinea pig just threw up blood I'll tell my mom & try to go as soon as possible thank you very much

Thank you very much there is a small problem tho my guinea pig just threw up blood & I'm very worried imma tell my mom & leave as soon as possible thank you very much

All the best!

It may have an injury or wound in the mouth, but it is NOT throwing up.

My piggy just started to throw up blood & I have no idea what to do I told my mom if we could go to the vet but she doesn't have money at the moment & I scared!

Omfg my mom says she doesn't have money right idk wat to do we can't take him & I'm worried sick!
Your piggy really needs to see a vet! As the responsibile adult your mum is legally responsible for ensuring that your pig gets veterinary attention to comply with the law! Perhaps you could show her this post to try and persuade her? Good luck xx

Definitely need to see a vet ASAP, as @Merrypigs Sanctuary has said as the adult your mum is legally responsible for your Guinea pig and is therefore by law required to take the pig to the vets.
Good luck!

As posted on your other thread, guinea pigs cannot throw up and blood coming from anywhere is a bad sign and an absolute emergency; your mum is legally responsible for the pig as the adult here and is therefore required to take the pig to the vet by law.
Perhaps show her this thread?
Good luck!

I did but she said another day but I don't think that's enough she's the one who agreed to let me have him idk wat to do rite now :<

I totally agree with merrypigs. If your mum can't afford the vet bills she shouldn't have got the pet. Maybe she could borrow some money.
I'm really sorry but you could lose your pet. If she looks more unwell all you can do is hold her but she is definitely NOT being sick. If she does go, maybe you should wait untill your 16 & can be in change of an animal & pay the vet bills, without rely on some one else. What about your dad. Let us know how things are going Hun.

Alright my dad talked to her & she said that she's gonna finish eating & were gonna go to a vet :D

Hi Cody, I really hope your guinea pig is ok. Of course its not your mother's fault if she has no money for a vet but this is her responsibility as thexadult pet owner. Its always good to plan ahead and save a little money every week or month for unexpected vet bills. Does your guinea pig get regular health checks? Its often cheaper in the long run and helps avoid any major health problems if your guinea pig or any other pet gets regular health checks from yourself and from a qualified vet or veterinary nurse. Have you thought about talking to your science teachers at school, and/or to a local animal rescue, about getting some proper info on guinea pig health? Or maybe if you asked to volunteer at a local animal rescue they might have someone there who could give your guinea pig regular health checks cheaper or for free? Or maybe there are local animal charities who offer cheaper vet care for families that can't afford vet bills?
Really hope your guinea pig is ok, he's very cute, what's his name?

I thought that is was just some minor mouth injury as guinea pigs don't vomit. I hope that he recovers soon.

All the best with the check re. his eye crusts and sneezing.

The food would never be stuck in their mouths that long

With all due respect, food can be stuck in the mouth for several days or even a week. The poster did not say exactly how long' not long ago' was. ;)
