The recent very wet weather has annoying caused my guinea pig shed to leak :( I went in there the other day and there are a few mouldy patches on the wood. Mainly on the floor in the corners under the Lino where the moisture has become trapped :(

The piggies aren't living in there at the minute as they are indoors so I can keep an eye on Eliza and I moved them in when we had the horrendous wet and windy weather but I need to get rid of it before the pigs move back in.

Would it be safe to use mould spray that contains bleach? It's the kind where you spray it on and leave it to kill the spores.

If I ant use that, any other suggestions?

Don't get me wrong, the shed isn't covered in mould but if I can't get rid of it, I will have to buy a new shed which is an expense I can do without right now :(

Personally I think they are fine to use. Dilute bleach is often used for cleaning kitchens where food is prepped wouldn't be marketed as kitchen cleaner if toxic and sadky it will have been tested on rodents to work that out.

If they're not in the shed i wouldn't worry about using it :) wet bleach can irritate skin/mucous membranes so it shouldn't be inhaled by humans or pigs :)

Thank you :) They're not going back in to the shed anytime soon so I thought I would make a start on trying to remove it whilst they're not in there but I didn't want anything I use to harm them when they do move back in

Thank you, I never thought of that . Do you just put it on neat and leave it or do you wipe it off afterwards?

with mould, i put it on neat. but you could dilute it 50/50 with water to be even safer. i put it on, left it for a bit and then scrubbed it with a brush. a nail brush works well. usually all or most will scrub off and then just leave to dry.

bleach is better colour wise but i don't like using bleach either. especially near the pets. :)
