Is it then due to genetics?

If two guinea pigs grow up in the same environment and one passes a lot earlier than the other one due to a certain illness, is the illness likely due to genetics more likely?

Hi

This is not a question that we can answer categorically.

It very much depends on the nature of the specific illness or health issue; it is not a blanket explanation. There can be a genetic disposition involved with piggies passing away at a young age but without a proper look at the individual genes it can only ever be a guess or a speculation.

I am very sorry that you are still struggling with your grieving progress. Please seek support.
