By that I mean can another Guinea Pig catch it from his cage mate?

My vet said they can, and he thought it odd that my other pig hasn't caught it too? I was suprised at this as I didnt think it was contagious, I havn't read that it is?

Generally speaking it seems to be a specific problem for individual pigs. But I have heard of an exception to this - I think pelicano's three girls all had the problem.

I seem to have this problem, too.

Just before I went to Switzerland, Telyn came down with the bloody pees and yesterday I found that her mother Taffy got them as well. :(

You want to change the bedding as often as possible with a cystitis piggy; which helps keeping the transmission down - something I couldn't do while I was away.

Last year, I had the case of Llewelyn catching it after his first trips outside, but as soon he had finished with his UTI, Nerys came down with it.

Oh so it is contagious then.

I change their fleece eveyday and hay boxes too but my other pig is fine.

Thanks fo you replys
