From reading recent threads, I have noticed that some of you use paddling pools as indoor runs (great idea). Here are my girls modeling their indoor run. They have a wire playpen but to make it bigger, we just use one side to stop them escaping. It goes on the kitchen floor which is great when they pee because it can easily be mopped up O0 Just wondering what other people use?

What a brilliant idea, where did you get those little wire sections from.

Thanks. I got mine from tesco but you can also get them from some pet shops and off the internet such as ebay just type in guinea pig playpen or something like that O0

Thanks for the info will do some searching, would love to have something like that for my guinea pig.

I used to use something similar and had penned off an area for them but they soon learnt how to escape and no matter what I done they managed to get out. All they wanted to do was run back to their cage. So I have now given up and leave their cage door open anytime I'm so they have free roam whenever they want - also means they go back into their cage to do the toilet - so no more cleaning up.

I have the grids joined all together in my study area (it's like tiled on the floor) and they can share going out time - if the weathers good enough they go out though.

Mine only go in this at night and when the weathers crappy :D

i bought a metal gridded play pen type thing from Pets at Home - it was about £27 - the sides are about 2.5ft tall about 3ft wide - there are 6 of them and they can be fixed together with the thin metal pole type things that come with them... 88)

it is up all the time and i use it against the wall in the kitchen - line the floor with newspaper and bedding and leave the piggies in there all the time! when it comes to cleaning them out, i remove the piggies to their old indoor cage (again on the floor with newspaper under it) and just roll up the newspaper in the large pen, mop where needed and relay... :)

takes about 20 mins to do a full clean out and put back so it is pretty good! it makes a run area about 7/8ftft by 2.5ft/3ft! they love it! and there is enough room to fill it with hideaways and toys etc... :smiley6600:

if i can find a link to one on the internet i will post it! (a way to make it easier to clean would be to perhaps cut an old piece of lino up and create 'sides' against the wall area and lay the news print on that... )
i currently have about 6 piggies in there (although i have had to split it up into 2 sections as they dont all get on sadly!) i also have a large indoor cage with my 2 boars in it - was perhaps looking into getting them neutered and then they can all go in together!

Will try to post some pictures too! O0

it is similar to that but the sides are slightly longer...... it also comes with netting for the top if you wanted to use it outside (butdo not to leave it unattended!) the metal poles are too long when it is on hard ground but good for securing on grassy areas... :smitten:
Wow, thats great O0. Thats what mine is but mines a lot smaller (but then I only have 2 pigs).
