Indoor Cage Recommendations

I have a shop bought cage which I used for a few weeks when I had to move my boys downstairs during building work. As much as I loved the cage (ferplast 120) in practical terms it was a bit of a nightmare - because it was a lot smaller than my c&c it needed cleaning out every 2 days, I know some people manage a once a week change with daily spot cleans but I found the spot cleaning more time consuming than a full change! I also found the floor of the cage to be harder to wipe clean as it has a grid like pattern on it rather than being completely flat unlike the correx. I'd say if you do go for shop bought you might want to invest in something like oilcloth to line the cage with as it'll prevent stains and make it easier to clean (I have it in my c&c to prolong the life of the correx). Good luck finding the right cage for you - it's so hard to decide what's going to work best in your own situation, I remember sending hours and hours researching it all - it really does pay off in the end!

And it doesn't just stop once you've sorted the cage out - there's the different bedding/floor coverings to choose from eg wood shavings, fitch, snowflake, vetbed, fleece etc. (I agree definitely put something underneath - currently I'm using cardboard from the many parcels we have delivered) just for starters

Then home made or shop bought toys, which hay to choose, which nuggets to go for......:flag::help:

I feel very lucky to have found this forum to help me make my choices - so many experienced people willing to share that experience. :luv:

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
I'm seriously thinking of going with the Midwest one.

I've got a bit of time before i have to make the big decision on what cage to get...hours of research ahead of me!

anyone got any reviews or comments on the Midwest Habitat?
