I'm thinking about planting Timothy grass for my little lawn I made

Timothy Grass Seed

Could this work? Is this what Timothy hay is from? Stupid questions probably, if I could plant this would it be as moist as normal grass?

I'm confused about grasses. I just want to grow grass that is generic grass. The vanilla of grasses. Bog standard lol.

All the ones I see is rye grass in wilko online.

I bought some Timothy Hay seed for mine last year, it comes up well but it's very thin compared to grass you would have on the lawn so you need more of it. I have planted this in seed trays now. It is very popular. Don't believe the 4 days germination nonsense mine took at least 10 days to appear.

On that case, I think I will use rye grass, apparently rye grass is the most common grass in Europe. So I'm guessing that's the grass we see everywhere to pick?

Most commercial lawn seeds have a mixture of rye and finer grasses mixed together, some are more hard wearing than others. Any standard grass seed will be fine, I would avoid grass seed for shaded areas though as its rather thin and wirey

I’ve tried growing these seeds indoor but after a single cut, they never grew back.
I wondered if anyone who grow these indoors had any success with them continuously grow even after multiple cuts.

That's weird. It should grow back because its lawn seed. I ended up putting a different brand down to this one though.

Did you mean Timothy?

@SkyPipDotBernie, I hope you can see the photo. It is past 7pm so a bit dark.

Below are the seeds I purchased for my Finn and Lara thinking I would grow them for them to enjoy.
I have tried almost every year and couldn't get the grass to grow repeatedly, so I never got more than one cut after growing them.

They look good. Have a go see if you can do grass again and get it to re grow. Might be worth googlong here you could have possibly gone wrong. I'm on my first attempt to grow rye grass

I am almost certain I don't have green thumb.
My skill lies in killing the plants and not growing them.

Unfortunately for my Finn and Lara, they don't benefit from my lack of green thumb either.

I've found the cat grass doesn't grow well after 1st cutting. I just grow normal lawn type mixtures now.
