I think my Guinea pig is dying

I'm glad you got a reassuring vet visit and hope he makes a full recovery with antibiotics!

That is the most amazingly good news! Fingers crossed that with his meds Bibble will make a full and fast recovery.

How is Bibble doing?
He’s doing really well thank you he seems so much more himself! However, over night Bibble has been bullying Bumble all night. Bibble is being very dominant, I think it’s because for a time when he was really unwell he was very vulnerable but now he’s starting to feel better he feels he needs to show Bumble who’s boss:/ I’ve been up all night making sure they don’t get into a big fight. They’ve been getting on so well, it’s such a shame x

Sounds right. I wouldn't worry too much, just re establishing the hierarchy.

There is often a reassertion of who’s the boss when one piggie has been poorly and lost its position, hopefully they will settle down soon x

I know it's a faff when they get stroppy with each other but isn't it wonderful that this is the conversation that winds up this thread 💕
Hooray for modern medicine!

Gosh... I bet you R exhausted! Fingers crossed he continues to make a full recovery

Hey everyone so Bibble passed away today. He fell sick over the weekend, Bibble massively deteriorated today so we made the decision to put him down as I knew he was dying. Turns out he had cancer bless him. We didn’t end up putting him to sleep he passed away peacefully in my arms. I am so utterly heart broken I hope and pray he knew how much I loved him. Bumble is going to be so lost without him. I just don’t know what to do now. Thank you for all your help again, godbless

Hi!

I have answered on your other thread but here is some very helpful information for what you can do for Bumble and for yourself now and in the coming days and weeks: Death, Dying, Terminal Illness, Grieving and Bereaved Companions: Information and Support for Owners and Their Children

Bibble would have known that he was loved and cherished. Piggies have a much finer sensor for things like that than humans! :tu:

I am so sorry for your loss :( Sadly, nothing can be done for cancer x
Thank you. In the end they told me that the cancer had spread to his lungs hence the respiratory infection that kept returning. X
