Yes i was looking at the lack tables too.. but as we still have not sold our hutch i had better not spend any more.....

I'd justify that by knowing it is getting used for the piggies lol, and the hutch will sell eventually!

i get frustrated trying to reach to clean (and catch pesky piggies!) - i can't even reach across a two grid wide cage, and even with two grids missing in the middle, i'm still at full stretch reaching through

i can't even catch them with out the other half.. i was hoping i would be able to.. i think all will be fine when its a bit lower! I need to make sure i don't lean onto the grids and bend one !

nothing is ever simple :)) i could do with the front grids being lower so i can reach in more easily but i can't be bothered trying to cut grids and things like that..

Do you have a coroplast base inside the C&C?

yes i do. :)

eta: well the cage part does except for where the two grids are missing. the run part infront doesn't have any correx. (the cage is a 5x2 at the back and then a just under 4x2 'run' part attached infront)

:D I wish I could put my C and C cages on tables. But at 5 X 4 they are much too big. All this bending down and turning around when spot-cleaning makes me dizzy! Plus I keep tripping up on the grids!

i am so glad it's not just me! our c and c is on the floor aswell and i have to sit inside the run part to clean the main cage! i bang my arms, i can't reach very well, i also get dizzy and trip over the grids when i stand up! benjie is usually running around me at the same time aswell! :)):)):))

yes i do. :)

I keep two grids at the front on hinges with a crocodile clip in between them so I can open them during cleaning time, like the attached photo (hope it makes sense). Makes it easier, even with my handled hoover.

My c&c is on the floor .Twenty one square feet and odd shape.Couldn't reach properly if higher.I just sit in it while I sweep up.No correx just ground sheet, towels and fleece.Just fold the cage out of the way and lift fleece and towels.Cage put together with cable ties.Flee e change is a fiddle, just tip everything off it then sweep up off ground sheet.Simples.

That's why I was so reluctant to let any go.Not many people can give them the space they had.The first four I rehomed ended up in a group of eight sows with more space than they had with me and the two Tom got are spoilt rotten.Wouldn't have let them go otherwise.

E="DePolga, post: 1782317, member: 119123"]Is it a C&C cage? I was thinking that this would be an easier approach, but was worried about squishing the correx...

Sadly, I don't have any kids to put to work![/QUOTE]

No it's a commercial cage 160 x 80 with a very large door in the top. My children are all grown up and flown the nest, so no help there either.

:D The C and C cage in my bedroom only has Correx around one side to minimise hay mess and hold up the grids where the bottles and hay rack are hanging. I found that, with Correx underneath, it would sometimes slip whilst I was spot-cleaning, and I almost fell over a couple of times. Now the liners just have carpet underneath. It grips better, both for walking on and vacuuming. The cage in the other room has no Correx either. I am, by the way, thinking of changing from filled liners to just a single fleece layer over towels. I find cage liners difficult to get dry if I can't hang them outside. And as I have 7, that's a lot of washing!
