Macchiato update:
I'm so relieved to report that Maccy has had most of her stitches removed and has put on a good portion of the weight she lost a couple of weeks ago. She's popcorning and zooming about, back to her happy self! Thanks for everyone's support and advice on here 😊🥳
 
Just caught up with this thread, I'm SO glad things have been getting better with the little one! And I'm so sorry you both had to go through this. Thank you for being such a trooper and taking excellent care of her❤️
 
It's been over a year since Macchiato's abscess nightmare and I'm just putting a wee note here to say she's been her normal bright self ever since 🥰 When I was frantically searching this forum for advice a year ago, a lot of the prognosis I read about had a sad ending so I want to make sure if anyone reads about her experience, that it gives them hope that piggies can bounce back from even the worst situations life throws at them! The support and advice I received on here and from The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary, combined with overnight support feeds and the excellent surgical expertise at Apex Vets saved her life. She is an extraordinary wee soul and I hope I have many more years with her 💗

Thank you for the update. It is great to hear back from success stories and not just when it goes wrong. Or mostly never hearing back at all.
