How long do I need to keep my piggie "Pickle" in quarantine for?

Thanks

Lou :)

Speaking from a very bad experience with ringworm from a petshop pig, I would say several weeks to be safe. He might look ok but it can take a while for things to come out (e.g ringworm!) and by then he might have infected your existing pigs. I keep mine in a different place and they are always last to be fed, cleaned etc. so I don't pass anythinig on to my own pigs. Alcohol rub for the hands is good too!

Good luck with the little fella

i would say 2-4 weeks and i always get mine vet checked when i buy a new piggy. i also washed my hands after handling the new piggy. good luck with your new fur baby pickle O0 sending hugs :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I have always kept new pigs away from others for 3/4 weeks. To make sure they are free from any nasties that can surface after that time span :)
