OMG that run looks smaller than the carrier i use to transport my guinea pigs, it is ridiculouslly tiny, they wont even have room to turn around in there let alone run

How can it be classed as a RUN! RUN WHERE!mallethead

Maybe a hamster run? I'd actually buy that for thimble, i was looking for a run a while back for him but the hamster ones are well a joke!

Its sad seeing things classed as large for buns and pigs, as people will think this is the right product to go for. A few years back before i had guinea's as pets, i thought the pet shop hutches weren't a bad size, but now through education i know better :)

Yep point taken, maybe it is for hamsters.:p It is sad though that people think it is an acceptable size, they are never going to see a guinea pig behaving naturally in something that size. All that they will think is that guineas sit about all day. That is all they can do in those.:(

the cage isnt even 3ft long and just over 1 1/2 ft wide, that would be small and only useful as an emergancy pen, not a home for guinea pigs or rabbits.

There deffinately needs to be some actual legislation (not just the recommended rspca guidelines) on minimum cage/hutch sizes.

Thats smaller then the minimum size cages I am getting my syrian hamsters, they will be having at least 80x50x50 cm. I hope noone actually puts piggies or rabbits in those :(

Wow, it's even smaller than my hamsters' bin! :x:...

I wouldn't put a hamster in that never mind a piggie :(

Oh my blueberries! No way is that Guinea Pig cage, let alone a Rabbit!?! grrrr
Are they dumb, aswell as blind?
Perhaps for a hamster, if you couldn't afford a big place, but still, that's not even adiquate enough for a hamster.

I hope you've wrote to them somehow.. explain how stupid they are! {:|

And that run says "1 sold" next to it... who would buy that?! ?/
It would probably fit all three of my girls in, with absolutely no spare room to move. That's a great "home-made" run. (Why if it's homemade, would you make it so small?!)

Best regards,
Isabella, Tallulah, Penelope & Lily.

the cage looks small and the ramp really steep.
As for the run, my local pet shop sells hutches that small...

Is there a way to report this listing to eBay? Keeping any animal in that cage would be cruel.

I've reported the cage to Ebay. I've told them it has a misleading title as the cage is so small keeping either animal in it is animal cruelty.

I've got a bit of Ebay experience but I don't know how good they are at following this sort of thing up.

If anybody else wants to do the same click on Contact Us on the main page, then See More Topics, then Rules & Reporting Members, then Reporting an Item.

I reported an ad that was actually selling an guinea and they had it down within 30 mins of me reporting it, very good service - they have a good reputation and think they want to maintain it

I don't think that ramp would be able to support the weight of fudge. It would snap in two. Have these people ever seen a guinea pig or rabbit before?

Has anyone seen the run too, that is just as bad if not worse. Would the rspca be able to help do you think.

I was just browsing gumtree somewhere I have not really looked before and now wish I had kept well away - not read all this thread but look at this!

This is from the post too:
guinea pig and cage for sale £10 as the guinea pig is 18 months old but hes lovely, and is probably ready for a bigger cage,

Poor think that cage looks like one of the smaller hamster cages - reckon he was ready for a bigger cage 18 months ago, not now!

Feel like trying to get there now but I don't drive:(

OMG I don't believe that at all, poor little soul. Where was he advertised. Some people worry me, what are they thinking. Can someone not reply to the ad and suggest he is handed to a rescue and sell the cage for the tenner.mallethead Do you think he has ever been out of that prison.

Just looked again as I was in shock looking at it before and it's Aldridge near Walsall.

I've not go much space but do have a spare 4 foot hutch outside but as I don't drive it's not that easy to get to from me. I'm not really in the position to offer a home myself now but having seen that guinea I can't stop thinking about him.

I could ring the lady to suggest contacting a rescue - anyone about from Walsall RSPCA - have you any space at the mo?

I'd be happy to pay the £10 just to get the poor guinea out of that tiny cage, if anyone nearer could collect him and offer a home/rescue space.

Is it best to start a new thread - I can add the link?

That guinea and cage is also on Gumtree, I found it when doing my usual Gumtree sweeps (am part of a get animals off Gumtree group), I have messaged Vicky from Walsall RSPCA and she is going to see what she can do.

But REPORT IT if on ebay, they cannot list live animals on there!

oh my god! I just cannot look at stuff like this it makes me sick! poor poor guinea pig - any updates?

I can't believe someone has just paid £33 pounds for that. A C+C cage would cost about the same. Pity the poor animal that has to live in that.:(
