The first pair of guinea pigs I had were named Cinnamon and Nutmeg. They were the two who set the trend for us naming the others with food related names!

After them came a pair of very noisy Abysinian siblings named Almond and Conker. Conker had the shrillest wheek I've ever heard.

And now, I have Chutney and Radish! They were named Harry and Ron (as in HP) by the rescue, but decided to rename them.

When we first got Polly i asked my 3 year old what he wanted to call her, as he had picked her, and with a very concentrated look on his face said we should call her Serious, but me and my partner didnt think that was a good name so give him a choice of polly and ziggy, so she is now called Polly serious as he started adding serious after her name lol, when we got a friend for her i pick Anna (Polly-Anna) which later turned out to be an Andy, when the baby's arrived we kept the only girl and again he named her Squidge as he said she was squidgy lol, we re-homwed dad and the 3 boys to friends, due to the babys markings we nick named them, black bum, brownie, and white square x

Chester - Really long list of names slowly worked down, nearly an ollie/oliver or a biscuit!
Bentley - speedy grey guinea pig just like a Bentley car!
Marmite - He’s had lots of previous homes and he’s an odd piggy, you either love him or you hate him!

Cassie got her name because she is a sandy colour. I said Sandy was far too common a name for a piggy so posh. So my friend suggested 'Lady Sandra', which ended up as 'Lady Cassandra', hence Cassie! :D

Poppy was adopted with Daisy RIP to be friends with Rosie RIP and I wanted to keep the flowery theme. I was going to keep the flowery theme with Charlotte but she just wasn't flowery and I really liked the name Charlie so she became Charlotte. With Francesca I was thinking of Francine in Arthur but thought Francesca was nicer, her middle name is Teagan. Nico was inspired by F1 driver Nico Rosberg, I was watching F1 while thinking of names and thought it was nice, his middle name is Alexander. Tara just suited the name, I gave her Annabelle as her middle name because we lost Annabelle the day I got Tara. My new girls are Louisa Jade, Louisa means warrior and she has taken over being top pig, and her daughter Jemima Skye, Jemima means dove and she is quite quiet.

I'm an ice skater and a big Torvill and Dean fan. So my original 2 were called Barnum and Bolero after Torvill and Dean's famous routines. Then when Bolero died we adopted Mack named after their routine Mack and Mabel. It seems to be a theme ill have to stick to now!

I spent a couple of months living in Poland last year and met an Irish woman who had two cute pigs I loved. When I came home I got my two boys and names them Dutch, after a Dutch boy I had a fling with over there and Hodge as it's a Polish word akin to "come here" which all the Polish women say to children, pets and husbands.

Mine are because of Ruby's red eyes and Titch was so small and underweight for her age, I do wish I had called Titch Olive though don't know why, I just kept calling her Titch when I brought her home, but she isn't really Titchy anymore:))

When I bought Lola, I had the copacabana song in my head ("her name was Lola, she was a showgirl...") Also when I bought her, me n my mum didnt want my dad to know because he didnt want another pet in the house, I hid her in my room (somehow!) for like 6 months before he realised she was there, and during that time my mum, auntie and uncle (who all knew about her) would randomly burst out singing copacabana and my dad never had a clue why until we told him :) makes me laugh when I think back!
My other guinea got her name because I love daisys, I had a doll when I was 3 who I named daisy and used to make lots of daisy chains when I was little, hence Daisy :)

Charley and Lola are from the tv show I have a two year old hehe

And Rosie and esme my 9year old brother named quit good choices for a 9 year old :)

Haha, I often sing that to Cassie. As in 'Her name was Cassie, she was a show pig' (even though she isn't!) and 'she had fur right up to there'. :))

I've had a few: Theodopoulos, Milo, Ponyo, August, Ginger, Snowy, Hilda etc.

I came across a few interesting ones on the web and collected the best, added to them and created an article about finding a name for a guinea pig.

The best name I ever came across was "Cutie Pie" (and can't wait to name a guinea pig that!)

My first, Scuzzy, was because I'd bought the entire series of Reboot shortly before I took him in. Hexadecimal, my favorite character, named her pet that. Some people thought the name was mean but SCSI is a computer term!

Dahlia and Iris got their names from the third Phoenix Wright game. There are two twin sister who look exactly alike except for their hair color and the fact that one is good and one is evil. I actually got it quite right which one of my piggies would be sweet and the other a handful xD

McMac and Momo got their name from a youtube video I saw of someone showing off their C&C cage. She had quite a few pigs but McMac and Momo were my favourite and so I chose them. Then when I got Sprout he was the tinniest guinea pig I had ever seen and so I wanted to call him something cute and small sounding. Like Sprout. I wasn't really thinking of the veg :))

My new girl is poppy as got her near remembrance day and loVe the name. When I was a kid had one called gooky.Originally goofy but little sister couldn't say it properly and it stuck

My girls got their names because I was determined to go all Harry Potter fan girl on them. Originally Henwin was called Hedwig and because Ginny is ginger I naturally went with a Weasley. I didn't like the name Hedwig though - I just kept thinking of a white owl. I ended up giving her the name of an oracular pig from one of my favourite yet fairly unknown Disney films. It's the cutest name ever. I'm glad I chose it :p

All my piggies were named when I adopted them

Sparky - was named as she was brought into the rescue bonfire night (RIP my lovely)
Candy - she's black rex and the lady at resuce said she looked like liquorice
Sugar - because the lady that bought her said she looked sweet

We also had Tigger (ginger and bouncy!) Cat (RIP)
Barney (dog) as we loved the name and thought it would be funny calling Barney when out walking! We have grown up now (a bit) (RIP)

I kept all their names

I have candy, sugar and a cat called Toffee (who we named as a kitten 7 years ago!) someone once said to be great porn star names for your pets rolleyes

We now have a puppy (well 20 months) called Lucy Loo after my dd favourite teddy lol!

we have a new addition Rodney, 2 months, he is named after rodney mckay from stargate atlantis, as he is just as funny and adoreable.

Pepper RIP little one as his heart problem got the best of him and he passed a few weeks ago, miss * young man xx
