How did you find out about the forum?

I just wish that guinea pigs were treated as they are in the UK, in the US they are just rodents, classroom pets, to be put in a small cage and sat in a child’s room and not properly taken care of 😔
I’m afraid there’s still a significant element of society here that feels the same way. In December our rescue took in 9 Guinea pigs from a school who had kept them as classroom pets.

Yeah. I live in the US, and it still makes me upset to see how many people just impulse buy or stop paying attention to their piggies. They do minimum research, if any at all.The majority of the time only one is bought, and we know how horrible it is for a baby piggy to be without another 😢

Any pet rodent or not should be taken care of as part of the family, I had rats and I had went above and beyond, usually treating them better than I did myself lol and ppl would say they’re just rats. But if you treat any animal properly you and your pet will benefit, there’s a trust and a bond there that ppl will not see bc they don’t take care of them properly and then they become bored of the pet leaving them to just survive which is not fair to the animal at all they strive on connection just as much as we do and they just become so depressed and eventually die sad and lonely 😩 makes me so mad

How did you come across us? Did someone recommend the forum to you? Did you find us through a social media site (e.g Facebook) Did you find us through a search engine?

Through Google. I have been doing a lot of research about Guinea Pig's and came across this as a reliable resource of information.

What made you join? Were you looking for some specific advice? Did you want to join a community which you perceived to have similar interests to you?

I joined as I had found some posts very useful, and the more I saw of the community, the more I wanted to be a part of it actively - not just a hidden shadow siphoning information :))
