I cant afford a snugglesafe heat pad for my piggies right now (they are inside but will be going back out in march or april) and worried that it will still be cold when they go back out. I have a small human hot water bottle-could this be used in place of a heat pad?

Hot water bottles aren't a good idea in case they get chewed which is very likely with guinea pigs.Just make sure they have lots of hay to snuggle in O0

Hmm I was thinking of that and I thought about wrapping a towel around it but if they chewed it their teeth would go straight through the towel. :-\
Has anybody found a snugglesafe below £15? £20 is the lowest I've found

Mine were £18 from P & H but I'm sure someone on here in the sale and wanted bit had some for sale for £17 incl postage, think it was a rescue as well.

Have a look i will do now see if i can see it. :)

Lol its made its self into a link now ;D

Thanks I hope the offers still there in a few weeks so I can save a bit of money
Plus they dont need to go out for a while

if and i have done this before use brown packaging tape to tape the hot water bottle to the outside of the hutch, the guineas have a piece of wood between them and the bottle, or get someone to put like a hay rack on the side back of the cage to hold a hot water bottle,

it works fr me so no reason why it shouldn't for you,

I always put my bottle on the cage about 10ish so at least they have some warmth into the early hours when it is coldest

Thanks I might try that I was thinking about burying it in bedding buut that would make a mess every time I took it out-taping it on the outside is a good idea.
