Hormonal piggies! Think I'm going to spay!

Recovery is going amazing thankyou touch wood! She isn't even needing to be syringe fed currently! Pain relief is all she is needing 😍 xx
That is fabulous. They do bounce back really quickly from the laparoscopic oophorectomy as opposed to the full spay. So good to hear she is doing so well.

Great news!

I call the day after the operation 'hangover day' because that is when the operation cocktail is wearing off and the body is feeling really sore but the healing process hasn't kicked in yet. It's always very positive to see a piggy moving around and eating on their own at that stage.

She should hopefully be brighter with every passing day as by tomorrow the healing process should start to get going.

Very happy to say that caramels recovery has been amazing and uneventful, she has been her usual self and eaten well from coming home! 💓 little miss marshmallows turn tomorrow and she had quite a tough recovery from her last op, she did not come round from anesthetic very well and struggled to chew for a couple of days so it is a nerve wracking time 😳😬🤞🤞 I have tomorrrow night booked off work to care for her then oh will take the ropes💗

I'm glad Caramel is doing well.
Best wishes for Marshmallow tomorrow

Fingers very firmly crossed for Miss Marshmallow!

Thankyou 💖 marshmallow will be having a deep swab to check for respitory bacteria at the same time, she has intermittent mild symptoms following a suspected uri in December, 3 weeks of sulfatrim and 4 of baytril. I'm hoping we have cleared any infection and this is a secondary issue but we are being cautious and testing following two respitory losses last year 🤞 of course she always behaves well and doesn't show symptoms at the vets 🤦‍♀️ but it is better to be cautious, the vet offered a lung lavage but I felt this was a little too invasive at this time so we are sticking with the swab as clicking and grunting seem to come from her upper respitory tract 😬 I hope we will be able to get her hormones sorted as well as some answers to the random clicking/sore eyes/sometimes snot/some random grunting issues 🤞🤞

She was extra snotty and clicky following her last op despite the baytril, I hope that we will not have a repeat and she will also not hay poke both eyes or chew her wounds open this time 🤦‍♀️

Marshmallow is home and has taken a syringe feed well :) everything went great--no scary behaviour this time thankfully! She had a cyst which has been removed along with her ovaries and she was snotty so it was easy to get a swab :) very thankful the hormones are gone and she's come round well 💖💖💖 waiting for a takeaway enjoying a rare night off together 😍

You have done amazingly well with these lovely ladies. Hopefully the recovery for Marshmallow will be as uneventful as Caramel’s has been. The future looks hormone free and bright x

Thankyou so much! 💖 I'm looking forward to less tension in the group! Mal is now my only intact piggy! I am hoping that reduced tensions and stress will boost every pigs immune system and help keep nuggets ic at bay too 💓 I hope that marshmallow will continue to do well 🤞🤞🤞 we have a full bottle of cisapride on hand as well as fibreplex, metacam (dog) and 8 sachets of recovery food so hopefully we can get her back to full health in no time! Extra snotty tonight but I expected that and have the nebuliser to hand also! I am so tired after not sleeping till 5am worrying about her but more relaxed tonight and happy to see her moving around 💓
