and this breeder has been doing it about 20 years and allways sexes them at 5 weeks and has never had any problems so i would keep them toghter till 5 weeks as thats what I'm doing and at 5 weeks i will take lilly and her babies and molly to see who are girls and who are boys

Breeders are often the ones who mis-sex and give people dreadful advice regardless of how long they've been keeping guinea pigs. Male cavies can reproduce from 3 weeks (though not all do) so 5 weeks could be far too late and result in inbreeding.

yes but this peron has done it this wat for 20 years and n ever had an problems with it why would someboby who loved guien apigs and did it becoause she cars about them give me wrong inforamtion

Hello all.

Well, the saga concluded today, so thought I'd give an update as I've had so much advice on here.

One little boar went to a friend as a companion for her older boar - she'd sadly lost another at Christmas. Fortunately the took to each other straight away :)

2 little girls went to another friend, and have already been popcorning, so very happy.

The others I've just taken to a lovely foster home (thanks J if you're reading!). A couple of people who'd said they would take some, couldn't, so I felt this was the best thing for them.

Much as I'd love to have kept them, it just wasn't practical. I'm just amazed at how quickly we all got so attached to them. Sniff. But where they are now is fab.

Hopefully my children will forgive me eventually - I am not their favourite person at the moment :(

With a bit of luck they'll come round when they see the new cage I am about to start building - yes I've been lured into the correx/cube world, so fingers crossed my diy skills are up to it.

So many thanks again to everyone who gave advice, and I'm sure I shall be popping on in future.
