Help with abscess flushing

I’m so sorry to hear that Harry has gone downhill so fast, keeping my fingers crossed that he improves🤞🏼
Sending lots of hugs❤️

Poor Harry, sounds like you are doing everything you can for him... paws crossed he makes it through until the vet can advise tomorrow... maybe an antibiotic injection if the infection may have spread beyond the abscess site? Or some buprenorphine if he is in more pain than you can manage with the metacam? Or some gut stimulants to help him eat? Just guessing here, its just things you might discuss with the vet to try help him... hugs to you and healing wheeks for poor Harry x

Thank you @PigglePuggle - they are all great suggestions so I have writtne them on a post it note for tomorrow - my brain is a bit fried right now as I am most definetly not cut out for 4 hourly feeds anymore!

Finally an update on poor Harry and his abscess.

Firstly thanks again to all who posted advice and support - it really meant a lot to know others were thinking of us.

The good news is that although it's taken him a few days to rally, Harry finally seems to be feeling better!
He is eating small amounts on his own and has stopped loosing weight :yahoo:
He has actually bitten me a couple of times now, which I take a s a sign he is getting back to his normal self.

All meds and syringe feedings are ongoing (and I suspect this will be the case for a while yet) but everything is heading in the right direction.
The vet is pleased with his progress and says the hole looks good, so we just need to keep doing what we are doing.
