Help! Blood Coming Out Of Female Bottom I Dont Know Where From

Since it hasnt happened for 7 hours straight are we now half in the clear, i understand it is urgent but i really cant do anything right now.

Ok :) We have left her normally overnight, we will monitor carefully and see a specialist on Monday, so we can get the best care, until then we will ease everything and not handle her unless urgent :)

Thanks for the help

Also did the blood fro your sow pass when pooing or weeing?

Thanks :)

If you are referring to me, it was difficult to tell with Ellen as their genitalia and anus are really close together.

Bleeding from the bottom can be down to problems with the digestive system / gut and bleeding from the genitalia can be down to reproductive issues, bladder issues, infection but only a vet can diagnose.

I must admit that when I mentioned the bleeding to the receptionist, they booked her in straight away so please don't leave it x

Do you recon she will be fine until tomorrow or monday?

We think she may of bit herself when biting the poo out of her butt, because she peed, it was fine then did a poop, weed and there was a small spot of blood.

Ellen stopped bleeding for a few hours but then she kept passing drops of blood on and off for a week or so.

At worst, please monior her closely over night and take her to a vets 4 pets first thing in the morning. Pets at home are open on a Sunday

I'd be willing to bet money that she didn't bite her bum. I would get her seen today but at the latest, tomorrow very early in the morning.

Okay I will get something done but all my local vets are closed tomorrow, will she be fine until early monday morning?

She needs to see a vet BEFORE Monday. If it was my gp she would have seen a vet hours ago when it first happened. Your guinea pig NEEDS URGENT ATTENTION. If not tonight then FIRST THING TOMORROW. She is in PAIN and COULD WELL DIE. Bleeding is a SERIOUS PROBLEM

My opinion: Lolaandsandy maybe is not independent in her decision, she cannot take a car and drive fast to the vet clinic... this seems to be the same usual story I will never understand: a teenager allowed to keep a pet caring for it as if she were independent and with a credit card into her pocket, without the help of an adult. Maybe I am wrong of course, but an adult would run to the clinic when so many people in a forum had said there is currently a real danger.
Anyway:
blood for a stone is dangerous not for the blood itself, but for the stone which could obstruct the urethra... and that would be an emergency. An infection can be treated on Monday and antibiotics do nothing against the stone. Of course a X-ray would say if the stone is really big and dangerous.
Another story and a great urgence is the blood coming from the womb or from the gut.
My advice for now: spray the poo with some hydrogen peroxide (maybe you can find it at home, it is used for desenfecting wounds and for dying hair). If there is blood you will see FOAM. If you see poo foaming, the situation is really dangerous. If the foam is only on the wee... maybe your piggie will survive for Monday...
Sows don't have period and never reach menopause, they are always fertile
An advice, as I am a mother: tomorrow start a hunger strike... maybe some adult will help you...

We can't do ANYTHING today our car is broken our local vets is closed and my dad is at a job, she is NOT in pain and I would know if she was, I know her. We are going tomorrow at 8am even if she hasn't bleed for ages.

I am monitoring her very closely and I check her every twenty minutes, if she starts acting less active I will call an emergency number however my family can't pay for that, I am fourteen and mature enough to keep a guinea pig with the help of my mum and older sister.

My mum has lots of experience is guinea pigs. But you are right we can't grab a car and go as it would cost a lot to rent, we are doing our best and if we could get an earlier appointment we would.

Thanks for replying

Thank you for making her appointment for today. You sound like a very caring owner.

Please let us know how you get on but it's good that you haven't seen anymore blood and have hopefully caught whatever it is early xx

:) We will let you know currently she is popcorning and eating breakfast :)

All will most likely be well until tomorrow and we will let you know staright away

Thanks :)

Fingers crossed for her. Please let us know what the vet says.

things will be okay this time, I am sure of that.
Anyway I remain strictly firm in my opinion: a pet does not need of a "mature" owner, but needs of MONEY and on Monday the bill might be very high if a surgery will be necessary. When a pet comes into a house it becomes a member of a family and the ADULTS are responsible (economically) of its health. In fact a minor is not allowed to put a signature at the vet clinic...
And there are no excuses for not paying a taxi driver when necessary.
If money are not enough for family+pets, pets should not come into the house.
Luckily this time it seems to be "only" a stone or a recidive of infection.

Ok so we are back and the vet said there is nothing to be worried about as she has given Lola some medicine for free that helps her get rid of the infection, unfortunately i couldnt go to the vet with her due to other events but she is back and has taken her first 0.4 ml. It will go in next days, our car is fixed so we can now go to the vets etc if we really need to.

thanks
