Has anyone used lice and easy shampoo if so is it any good I have two guinea pigs with tiny black dots in their fur which I’m thinking are lice?

If you zoom in on the photo attached there ones we have cut off

Please don’t use any treatment until you have seen a vet for definitive diagnosis. Most of the shelf ‘medications ’ aren’t strong enough to deal with any problem so you will need vet grade treatments once you have a diagnosis

Hi and welcome!

I can unfortunately not see a picture, but from your description you are more likely to deal with hay mites (chirodiscoides caviae), which usually come with imported mass harvested chain pet shop hay these days. In older days they used to be known in the UK as static lice (hence the confusion), but they are NOT lice. Lice are small pale scrawling things. ;)

I would most strongly recommend to throw away your current hay, deep clean the cage with F10 disinfectant (which is also active against fungal spores), wash any soft furnishings at a higher temperature (60 C/140 F) and consider switching hay brands.

Please see a vet for the correct diagnosis and correct strength products. Home treating on spec can unfortunately result in you spending a lot of extra money on unsuitable products which may at the best temporarily suppress any parasites but not clear them out - and then even more money when you finally see a vet with a much more advanced case.
