I am seriously thinking of buying a new washer and dryer for the guinea pig bedding :lol!:
I am wondering if anyone has done a winter using fleece bedding? At the minute its great cos i can wash it and hand it on the line until dry.... I don't really want to put it in the drier as i have a thing for hair - as you probably know - even my own bugs me when i find it on stuff !

Anyone used a launderette ? Do they have rules about animal bedding ?

I washed a fleece today. When it came out the washer, it was almost dry.

My fleece always comes out the washing machine nearly dry so i juts hand it on the radiator. It's also advisable not to tumble dry as fleece items can shrink!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do as it gets colder, my fleece liners take ages to dry...not the fleece but the towel inside. Like @KatPig said I don't want to tumble dry and wil shrink the fleece but I have storage heaters so have no radiators to pop them on so dreading when it gets colder!

yeah mine do kind of come out fairly dry but i like to hang them out and give them lots more shakes to get rid of the hairs lol,... I have radiators and an airing cupboard so might make some space in there too...

@artcasper you do remember I live about 20 - 30 mins away from you? :P hehe. I think the sun went round the back lol.

I've got to watch the line, it's nearly falling over *sigh* and the main wash line snapped lol XD

i find the incontinence pads are a lot faster at drying than the ones with towels inside x

I use vet bed, brush it really hard with a very stiff brush so very little hair left by the time it gets to machine, when its too wet outside to do this I spread it on the kitchen floor and give it a good going over with the hoover. It comes out of the machine almost dry so a couple of hours spread over the kitchen door and its done!

Fleeses, snuggle tubes, vet bed, in fact everthing piggy gos over the radeators and banesteres

I was considering a tumble drier, but l think l will wait a while

what brush do you have @piggieminder ?

A wide metale tooth human comb and a 4 in sliker brush

I'm lucky enough to have a garage and put mine I there to dry, but they don't take long as they come out of the washing machine almost dry.

I never use the tumble dryer for any of my piggy stuff. I put the stuff over the bannister and then on 2 clothes horses. I have not even used the line for my stuff and it dry's great inside. It is usually dry within 2 days, I am hoping this will just be the same in the winter for the drying time. If not I will just put the airers in front of the wood burning fire!

Looks like I will dig out the airer.. We have lots of radiators but other half will no doubt moan about the fleeces stopping the heat getting out lol.... I have noticed today though whilst doing lots of washing, if I do an extra rinse & spin at the end of the wash the fleeces come out a lot drier.....

i have a little pop up rack thing, for hanging stuff on inside, very useful, portable and not too big.

I wash my piggies' fleece at a laundrette as I don't have a working washing machine at home. They never really see what I'm sticking in the washer/dryer at the laundrette so no problems so far!

I tumble some of my fleecey items or I put it on my heated maid I have a similar one to this
Halves the time of air drying on a normal maid. Only issues I have with drying fleece indoors without the use of the tumble dryer is that is can make the room kinda humid.

Fleece dries quickly, so I just use an airer. Even though my fleece has wadding in the middle and a waterproof backing they still dry quickly :)

It's a Wilkinsons one - the label says bannister brush, it's very stiff like a yard brush but has a short handle like a dustpan brush.
can you post a picture please? I am a little obsessed with finding good brushes :)
