Hair loss/thinning on gpigs sides is often a common symptom of ovarian cysts.
I'm afraid I have no idea what the spot looking mark is in your picture though? It's possibly not connected with ovarian cysts. It looks similar to how my Orca's sebaceous cyst started though. She had it for years, it would need emptying regularly, but wasn't really an issue.
I would have a chat with the vet & discuss your options for both the hormone injections & the mark in your photo.
Ellie was 6yrs when she had the HCG hormone injections had a 2nd set at 7yrs & I lost her at 8yrs through other health issues.
The down side with the injections seems to be that they either work or they have no effect.
I was incredibly relieved that they worked very well for Ellie, reducing the cyst & giving us 2yrs extra together without surgery.
