Hannah's having an operation tomorrow!

Hannah is having an operation tomorrow to amputate a toe and remove a lump in her neck. She had a nail-bed infection which has gone into the bone and her foot is very ulcerated too. In the early hours of Monday morning last week I found her bleeding severely from her foot. It was actually quite terrifying because she seemed to be losing such an awful lot of blood and I was so scared she was bleeding to death. By applying pressure I eventually managed to stop the bleeding.

Simon, the vet, thinks the lump in her neck is a lymph node which could be associated with the infection in her foot, so tomorrow she will be having surgery.

She's such a lovely, sweet piggy and at the moment she is fine in herself. We just feel that she needs to have this surgery now while she is still well enough to cope with it. Her friend Demon is going with her tomorrow to look after her. She also lives with Blossom, Petal and Clare but Demon is her special friend.

Beautiful Hannah. I was lucky enough to meet this lovely piggie a couple of years ago.

Debbie, we're all wishing you so much luck for tomorrow. I know how afraid you are, but your vet is excellent, and Hannah will have the very best care. x

I'm wishing you all the best. I remember seeing Hannah's photo of her during a bath on the youtube video, I fell in love with her on sight! She is absolutely adorable and the name Hannah suits her!
I hope she's feeling much better soon, I know how horrible operations are. All my and my girls love to you all xxxxx

Hannah's home, and I guess considering what she's been through, then she is doing really well so far. The next few days are going to be critical but so far, so good.

Before Simon even started on the operation, Hannah's foot started to bleed severely and she lost a lot of blood. The lump in her neck was very large and very deep too. Simon had to remove two toes, but already she is starting to hobble around the cage a little.

Her little mate Demon is being a fantastic nurse and is looking after Hannah so well.
 
I'm delighted the surgery was successful. It must have been very very difficult for Simon.

I'm so chuffed she's doing well & of course "my" Demon is a fantastic nurse - she is a star!

Hannah had a good night and has eaten quite a lot already this morning. I slept with their cage right at the side of my bed so I could constantly check on her and i'm sure I woke at least once every hour! She's a lot more alert this morning and has done a little bit of hobbling around. She's an amazing little girl!

That's great news Debbie! Lets hope she continues to improve what a great little fighter she must be. Besides, it looks like she may have a hot date with Scruffy when she gets better ;) xx

it's her amazing care and attention from her family and her little personality that has got her through! thank you for keeping us updated.
Is there any chance you can post the photo of her in the bath on this thread? I think everyone you love to see it! x
