Hi I have three Guinea pigs. Today, Kirk seems to have watery eyes with guck towards the bottom almost as if he's been crying. I don't know if this helps but my sister is sick right now and she does help with maintenance.

It feels like he is taking short rapid breaths on my tap and always make really weird grunting noises every 3 seconds.

Dito, a type of lanolin produced by the pig spacicly to insulat and condition the pigs hair!
That's why bathing is not a good idea as it washes it all away leaving the hair dry

It does look like cleaning fluid but with his breathing not sounding right it is best to get him checked over. They can't usually catch our colds but they can get an upper respiratory infection.

Guys please help me I've confirmed that it's a respitory problem. He looks bad. Is there anything I can do to provide immediate relief until I can make an appointment?

If he's bad you'll have to make an appointment with an out of hours vets (24 hour) and try and get him treated that way.

There's not a great deal more you can do if it's an emergency. There's certainly nothing that would give him any kind of relief, let alone immediate.

Hope you manage to get an appointment asap for the poor little guy! :)

Do you know anyone who has a nebuliser? Your local chemist may know we're you can rent one
If not try putting him near to steam!

If you live near to Liverpool l have a nebuliser you can borrow

I'll look for something like an inhaler. Will get him to vet ASAP. Is it spreadable to other guinea pigs?

If it is a respiratory infection, it could be passed on to your other pigs
