Guinea pig troubles.

Wait, why does it need to be side by side if all they need to be able to do is smell and talk to each other? Because right now I have it side by side, but they can’t see each other.

the cage of a single piggy needs to be next to the cage of others for interaction - smell, sight and sound. covering a divider is fine to use to calm one down temporarily but you would be looking to remove the divider after a time so all senses for interaction can be used. Using stacked cages with a single piggy means the single would not share a dividing wall so would not have full interaction and can lead to loneliness.

Well I can’t take down the dividing wall because Nugget tends to push his head through the bars and get himself stuck.

then I would be looking to make the gaps in the dividing wall smaller by covering with wire mesh so he cant get his head through.

if you're using c&c grids, then they can be overlapped and cable tied together to make the gaps smaller, but for safety they should be 9 hole grids not 8 hole, as piggies cant get their heads into 9 hole grids.

To be clear, If you’ve only just separated nugget then it could take him a couple of days to calm down enough for you to be able to remove the divider blocking his view. After that, and if he calms down, then any divider used for the purposes of blocking his view can be removed but bars between them will need to remain so he physically cannot get to the others.

Oh, yeah I know. He was only separated yesterday so that gives me enough time to go get some wire to make the grids smaller because I can’t risk him putting his head through it again.

You have had some excellent advice from some of our most experienced members, but it is also good you are open to considering how to deal with this situation if you can''t offer all of your boys the home they need.

To play devil's advocate I would seriously consider rehoming your single piggy via a suitable rescue (not free ads).
It sound like if he stays with you he will not have the chance to find a companion and may also have limited contact with the other piggies, which at such a young age is deeply unfair to him.
A rescue can help pair him up with another boar, or possibly have him neutered so he can live with sows from 6 weeks post op.
Hopefully if you are able to offer your remains 3 boars a suitable cage they may continue to live together, but the reality is that they are only just approaching the most turbulent teenage months, and boar trios have over a 90% fall out rate during this time, regardless of cage size.
