Does anybody know if there is a guinea pig rescue in Cardiff? I don't think there is but just wanted to double check.

I think my nearest one is Glynneath with Suzygpr.

Thanks

I think Suzy is the only one in the vacinity!

Having been to Glynneath GPR, I'd certainly recommend it! I'm back up there again myself soon :))

Yea I thought that. Thank you. I have not been there yet, but I can see from this forum and from her page on Facebook that Suzy is very good!

Wasn't there a GPR in Cardiff at one point, but they had to close due to funding...or something? Unless I am thinking of something else.

Hi Suzy

Thank you very much. I will keep that in mind. I want to be 100% certain before I visit the piggies because I think I will fall in love with, well, all of them! drool I already have 2 sows to think about also. Although, I understand you offer sow dating?

I am glad I know now what GPR's are available near me. Thank you.

I too am looking to adopt in the Cardiff area, I'm giving myself two months to prepare my home for them. Building a 2x4C&C cage with fleece. Very exciting stuff. I have experience previously but there's a hole in my heart missing which even my two little cats can't fulfill (I love them dearly, I'm a huge animal lover).

Please don't judge me by my 'expectations'. As I'll be a new owner to a pair this time I would really love two girls, at a young age so I can bond with them so early on in life, I hope to get a bigger place and adopt some older ones in the future.

So I hope some young ones come into some sort of center by July.

Only trouble is travel as I have no means of travel at all, so I'm in a situation. If I can't sadly find my way up there I'll have to look for a really good reputable breeder so I can see the parents etc ... which is hard to find!

Pigs of all ages, shapes, sizes and colours find their way into rescues all the time!

If you really can't manage travel, there may be some people locally who could help once you're ready and have been given the go ahead and stuff. So many people on here are passionate about helping rescues that they give up their own time to help get piggies safely into a rescue where needed, and help get piggies to new owners.

This is a pro-rescue forum, so no one would be able to advise you about breeders, but people may be willing and able to help with transport once you're given the go ahead by a rescue.

Hope that helps!

That's fantastic news, a great help. I've been on here for a few hours and I feel like family already haha. I truly hope I can get two little baby girls to pamper and show what a good life is! I'm putting my sewing into practice to make some beds.

If I manage to find scrap materials I may make some and donate to Suzy for her piggys.
