I am so very sorry that no vet examination and the best of your dedicated car haven't been able to turn things round for Moose. My heart is aching for boh of you. You have truly done your best.

Long overdue update on this thread: Moose had another dental on tuesday of last week. She’s still not eating and will only shred spinach leaves into a million pieces. I’m still syringe feeding but i know logically she’ll need to be euthanised, probably some day next week. I’m heartbroken but i need to know if i am making the correct decision for her. She’s lost even more weight and is essentially a bag of bones now no matter how much i’m feeding her.

My heart goes out to you. My last senior piggy shredded food and didn't eat. I see this issue has been going on a long time. Really tough on you emotionally and on Moose of course.

I read in your post that you know the answer yourself, you know what the correct decision is for Moose. You know her best. Holding you and her in my heart.
I wish I could write something more optimistic.

I am so very sorry that this update isn't a happy one. Firstly hugs to you both you have done an amazing job all I can say is Moose is your beloved guinea and you must put your feelings aside and try to as impartially as possible assess her quality of life which I'm not saying is easy at all then make your final decision based on that. Once any decisions are made take time to live with that choice either way as far as possible and see how you feel then and how Moose is doing. What does she weigh now?

Hi guys, Moose is being euthanised tomorrow at 4:45pm. I’m a complete wreck, she is one of the most docile cuddliest animals anyone could ever meet. I’m really gonna miss her. Thank you all so much for your support and kindness during her illness. Here’s some of my favourite photos of her <3
