I’ve had Wren since August last year. She’s always been a little skittish and a loner (she doesn’t like socialising with the other pigs and would always be on her own). Anyways, over the past few weeks I’ve noticed she keeps Shrieking. Every time she goes I go over to her but she’s always been on her own.
Have any of you got any suggestions of what is going on with her?

thank your for all the help.

What Kind of shrieking is it? Is it wheeking when a bag is rustled or squeaking to communicate with the other piggies? Is it constant or on and off?
when you say she’s a loner, is she living alone, in the same cage as the other piggies or in a separate cage next to them? You have to bear in mind that piggies won’t always cuddle with one another. So when you say she’s always been on her own what do you mean?

Hi, thank you for getting back to me.
No, it’s a quick high pitches squeaking. It’s on and off. She’s in a cage with other pigs (there is 6 total including her and 1 Male) and every time another pig goes to her she will squeak and run away. But recently I’ve noticed she will do it and be on her own (in a house but there will be another pig close by).
By loner I mean, they live in a cc cage with a loft area. More times than not she will be up there on her own. Or she will be hiding in a cuddle sack or in a house.
When I took her (and two other pigs) on I was told She was 13 months old but we were told she didn’t get on with the other two we got. So we put her with Wigfrid (a pig that was around the same age as her) and they got on fine. But we noticed either of them went by each other but they wouldn’t fight.
When Wigfrid passed away I put Wren with Wynnye and her 2 babies and Wren got on so well with them, even letting one of the babies follow her around and they would snuggle with each other.
But now Wren doesn’t even snuggle with the baby and likes to be on her own.

I hope I’ve answered your questions.

It’s fine to not want to snuggle up to other piggies, they won’t necessarily do it. But that doesn’t mean she is a loner. She Probably likes the interaction but Also enjoys her own space and time to herself. Like some people I know (not pointing fingers at myself) 😁

mom not sure about the squeaking, maybe it’s submission etc or just 🤷🏾‍♀️
