Emergency Guinea pig is skin and bones

Pretty much all chemists/drug stores will have syringes.
You just need to go in and ask, becasue they don't put them out on display.
Failing that you can always ask at the local Dr's surgery for one. Explain why you need it (1ml syinge for a sick guinea pig) and they should happily hand one over.
We don’t have any drug stores where I live :( we pretty much only have one grocery store. I’ll try to get some off of amazon, but they probably won’t get here for like a week. Also she’s eaten a good handful of the mush 👍🏼

Update: Xiao-xiaos still doing well, she’s eaten all the pellet mush I’ve given her, I even left her with some last night to make sure she could eat when she wanted to. She’s nibbled on some lettuce and some hay, but hasn’t eaten much. I’m going to see if she wants and cucumber or banana, they’re soft so she should be able to swallow them. My room also smells very strongly of alfalfa pellets :/ oh well haha

How are things with Xiao-Xiao?
She’s doing good, I think she’s gotten sort of tired of the pellet mush so I gave her some banana and she scarfed down as much as she could. I made some more mush and put it in her cage for her. She was being all loud and squeaky with the other boys when they wanted their veggies, so I think that’s a good sign :)

On another note, I’ve noticed my little baby piggy “Chi-Chi” has been sneezing a bit. Maybe once a day he’ll sneeze like twice in a row. I haven’t heard it today and I’ve moved him and his dad to a different room that’s maybe a bit less stuffy. Do you think I should bring him to the vet as well? I don’t want him getting sick too. (He’s 2 months old and lives with his dad in a midwest cage, xiao xiao is the mom)

I’ve been giving her red peppers and other veggies. I used to give them vitamin c cookies but I’ve ran out. I think I’m going to have to wait until Monday. I think that’s when the guinea pig vet gets there. I’m debating just stealing the car and driving to Dryden myself at this point. I’m hand feeding her carrots which she’s really interested in and she’s eaten a good bit, she keeps getting food stuck in her mouth though, she opens her mouth up really wide like she’s getting food unstuck. I checked her mouth/teeth but I didn’t see anything.
I would definitely suggest seeing an exotics vet/guinea pig vet asap as most normal vets are not experienced enough to deal with Guineas and sometimes miss vital signs.
I had a very similar situation just last month with one of my boys. He had lost a great deal of weight, was hiding away all the time and although he was trying to eat, whenever he picked up a piece of hay or veggie he would open his mouth as if he were choking. We ended up having to take him to the clinic a number of times within the space of a week. Our exotics vet took a look inside his mouth and ended up performing an x-ray - it turned out he had a dental problem that was preventing him from eating. Several weeks after his operation he’s back to eating well and seems to be his normal self.

Critical care may be a good idea to try and can be bought from most pet shops. It’s a paste that you can either give in a bowl/spoon if your Guinea will willingly eat it or or it can be syringe fed slowly every few hours. It’ll help to at least keep your piggy going until you can get her to a vet.
I hope everything will be okay!

Thanks, I’ll look for some kind of critical care tomorrow when I get to the vets. They are an exotics vet so that makes me feel a little better. She hasn’t eaten as much pellet mush today compared to yesterday, but she’s eaten some banana and now some honeydew. She’s kind of making those grunting noises again, I hope she’ll be ok until tomorrow

When I get to the vet I'm going to ask them about her teeth, about a uri, about an allergy to aspen, is she’s just picky with food/depressed/lonely, and to make sure she’s not pregnant (because there is a chance she got pregnant when she gave birth 2 months ago) Is there any other questions I should ask them?

So her back teeth were WAY overgrown, he trimmed them (I had to help hold her head) and it seemed to have went well. He also said she has a little bit of an upper respiratory infection, so she’s going to get antibiotics.
