Guinea pig died 6 days after we got him

sounds positive!
If they want to rest then they will. if they don’t want to sit together then that is also fine. A lot of piggies won’t cuddle with each other - mine don’t, I never find them in the same hidey together.

Brilliant thanks so much for your reply, I’m keeping my eye on them without being right on top of them, as I think I scare them every time they settle.

Sorry for your loss. Pet stores and private breeders cannot be trusted. This is such a sad story. You obviously meant well, but was sold pets into unsuitable conditions and with wrong information.
Iam sure the above advice will put you on the right track.
Really dissaponted with P&H, can't believe they would sell babies to live outdoors with winter coming up and fireworks season:soz:

I'm so sorry for your loss and the mis-information pets at home gave you. Fingers crossed your little boys bond :)

So sorry your lost your first pig, and so sorry you were so misinformed by the pet store. This sadly isn't uncommon. A lot of pigs from pet stores come in with health problems, often from the stress of shipping, overcrowding, etc., and it's certainly not your fault that one of your original pair passed away.

I can vouch that indoor pigs will adjust very well to house noise... mine are in our family room, where they regularly hear the TV, the three kids being noisy, etc. I wouldn't let my oldest come down and play the electric guitar right next to them, but they are more than capable of filtering out normal household noise so they can focus on what's REALLY important (i.e. squeaking every time they hear the noise the fridge door makes when it opens.)

It's so disappointing how Pets At Home disregard the wellbeing of their animals and I'm sorry for your loss. I hope the bonding was successful and the boys are happily bonded now.
I can certainly agree that they will get used to noises. I sneeze very loudly (having hay in the house 24/7 can't help 🤣) and at first my two would run and hide but now they don't even stop what they're doing they just ignore my ridiculous noises 🤣🤣

Hello and Welcome to the forum
So sorry you’ve lost one of your little chaps x

P@H and a lot of breeders are so poorly trained and the information they give out is often totally wrong. You have found the best website for information and support now x
Hope the bonding is a big success, it’s all sounding very promising so far. The Guides are a great source of info and always feel free to ask any questions
