Hi all, looking for advice re. Grease glands.

One of my boars has what feels like a little skin tag protrusion in the grease gland area. When I got him he was very trimmed and clean around the area so I'm not sure what is normal for him now that it's grown out a bit.

The gland area is a little greasy but no clumping or matted hair. The skin is not inflamed or raised other than the little pip of skin. He's not fussing over it but I can feel it. He's 6 months old.

The other boar does not appear to have the same thing. Should I get it checked out or would it be more obvious if there was a problem say in his behaviour or condition?

Thanks in advance, Jo aka Monty & Tashi.

Sight unseen and without hands on check we can’t comment I’m afraid. Our advice will be to see a vet for anything which concerns you

It's good to meet your vet anyway if you haven't already and ask questions. His baseline can be put into his records and a general health check, usually including a look at the molars to see all is well with his back teeth, is a good thing.

You may find the above guides helpful for general care of the grease gland etc.
