PigglePuggle
Senior Guinea Pig
Beautiful Lavender joined us in October 2021, with her companion Luna. Their mummy @Roclibrarian made the brave and difficult decision to rehome them with us as Luna was a very old lady, and she wanted Lavender to have new friends after Luna passed away.

Luna however got a new lease of life after falling in love with toy boy Theo, and both girls joined the PigglePuggle herd that Christmas!

Big purple Lavender soon became everypig's best friend, mediating disputes between "frenemy" cousins Puggle and Puggle, following heard leader Clover everywhere, and always first in line for snacks- she had a huge appetite for life, and also peaflakes, vegetables, fruit, pellets, hay, and anything else edible

Sadly time waits for no pig, and in 2022 the rainbow bridge took many of Lavender's friends- Piggle, Puggle and Clover, with old lady Luna leaving us too in January 2023.
Luckily though, the Potteries rescue was overflowing with new friends at that time, after the notprious school rescue- and Lavender gained a twin sister Gladys, as well as friends Hilda and Frida!

Poor Hilda also left for the rainbow bridge far too soon, but she left a lovely legacy in the form of her baby boy Dantellew, who worshipped Lavender since the first time he met her at 4 weeks old- and after his neutering and post-op wait, they became extremely close friends!

This was the last family portrait photo, of Lavender with all her piggy family- Theo, Blod, Gladys, Frida, Dante, Lavender, and Hatty.
Sadly Lavender developed some bladder issues at the start of December. Initially we thought it might just be stress cystitis due to moving house, but the vet diagnosed a bad UTI, and then bladder stones. Poor old Lavender just stopped eating, and despite all the probiotics, suringe feeding and pain relief we could give, she just melted away over a few days, and left for the rainbow bridge peacefully in her sleep last weekend.
Goodnight big purple girl, popcorn free and go find all your old friends over the rainbow bridge x
