I admit when I got my piggies I assumed they would be able to use the same vet as my dog does, from reading this forum it has stood out that that isnt the case, I have googled small animal vets but I think most claim to deal with them, one has stood out in Wyken (not far from me) but if anyone can recommend one that would be fab. They need to go have there nails clipped and a general check up (I am far to wussy to do the nails, I dont even do the dog :red I dont want to end up with a sick piggie and not know where to go. xx

Hi I live in Coventry (Walsgrave) and i use Regent Vets in York Street (round the corner from Butts college) Thet are pretty good and have neutered my boy Yorkie. I like it that you only pay once for the consultation and then if you go back with the same problem you only pay for treatment.

Wow what a small world, I am in Walsgrave too :))

I am not sure where that is (I have lived here 4yrs and still dont know where anything is :)) ) but the other half will know, thank you x

where about in Walsgrave are you? i am on Woodway Lane

I used to live there by the chippy, I'm now on peterlee walk xx

not sure where that is, but nice to know that there are now 3 of us on the forum that live close by xx Maybe we should all have a meet up soon

Its just round the corner from the church at the bottom of woodway lane, dont know if you know walsgrave gardens but we are at the bottom of that street, I dont know anyone round here yet except the other halfs family, do you have any littlies? I have 4, 2 at Frank Whittle and 1 at Cardinal Wiseman, then demonic toddler at home xx

Which church at which end? i am near St Phillips church near to Potters Green, this is right up the top end of Woodway Lane where the lane meets the motorway and becomes a dead end, near the Jolly Colliers pub.
My children are a bit older then yours 17years and 14 years, but the other member on the forum that also lives close by has 2 small children. We should arrange a forum meet for Coventry members xx

I'm the other end, st marys church is the one I'm near, a meet would be cool would be nice to meet people from round here xx

maybe i will start a new post and see if anyone is interested. I am seeing Wiebke on Thursday (lok her up on the forum she really knows her stuff and lives in Coventry) so i will speak to her about a meet up. Do you drive or would it be better to meet near home?

PS tell us more about your piggies and your dogs. I have 4 dogs and 17 guinea pigs. 1 male and 4 female live in the house, the others are 1 male and 11 girls live outdoors. I also have 2 chocolate labradors. 1 lhasa Apso and 1 Lurcher. I work at the hospital (Walsgrave) as a staff nurse on the children's ward and i run a support group for children with epilepsy.

That would be good, I dont drive so tend to be stuck in most of the time (I came over from nuneaton) so somewhere easy to get to is best unless its a weekend thing then I can get Neil to take me anywhere lol.

I have 1 dog, she is a border collie (though I'm not sure if she is a cross or not, I bought her as a full breed but vets always put a x) she is nearly 10.
Then I have my 5 boys, 3 were rescued they came in a tiny cage, I think they are abys though not 100% sure, the other 2 I'm unsure of breed. I have alot to learn about piggies! Then I have my syrian Cordelia, she came from a lady that was moving to oz, she is such a cheeky girl. Neil also has a few fish.

I forgot to say I am a stay at home mum at the moment, one of my children has autism, adhd and dyslexia, time is taken up with alot of appointments and things for her so I guess you could say I'm her carer, I do hope to get back to work in the next few years though xx

sounds like you have your hands full too then. My daughter has epilepsy which is why i run the support group. I work 3 long days a week (13hr shifts) which means i have 4 days off. I will start a thread about a forum meet in Coventry but i might get a better response if i contact the ones i know directly.
I will start the thread and ask for suggestions.

yeah it can be hard work, but she is worth it, she was only diagnosed 18mths ago so we are only just getting our heads round it all (we always knew something was up but we thought dyspraxia, autism was the last thing I would of thought)
Its good you run a support group, I wouldnt know where to start with anything like that, I would love a local group I could go to for autism.

That would be cool hun, I hope others are up for it :D xx
