Ha ha ha wouldn't be the first person to mix them up. 2 years ago at Christmas my sister (who had never seen my piggies except in a picture) got my 2 piggies a gift which was very nice of her. It was a cozy "hamster" reindeer bed. Lol. It was funny as Alby could wear it as a hat. Lol.
I'm guessing the piggie would rather be wrongly identified as a hamster than as Donald Trump!
Actually I think this is pretty common, a friend of my daughter's saw our pigs and said, "Those are big hamsters!" And I bought a pair of kids' pjs for another of my children that had a cute photo graphic of guinea pigs wearing hats or scarves that was labelled as 'hamster pattern' on the website.
