Well,

Spikes ear has a scab on it and its all dried blood covered in white fungi stuff :-\ It wasnt so big the other day so i suggest hes scratching it more

Talked to Chrissie from PP site about GG stuff etc and i know what to buy etc but just cant as i dont have Pay Pal is it 98)
Ive been putting other creams on his ear but they are probably what made it worse :'(

What do you suggest i do ? Ive asked Chrissie about sending money but didnt no if i could or not

I would be taking the piggie to the vet just to make sure it is straight forward treatment that is needed.

they accept postal orders, so you dont need pay pal :)

you get postal orders from post offices :)

I'd be taking it to the vet too. You need to be exceptionally careful when handling all your pigs as it can be transmitted SO easily if it is fungal.

your probably best taking him to vet, you dont want 28 piggies ending up with it ::)

and you dont know what it is, maisy had ringworm and decided to pass it on to me ?

His ear

i'd say mites or ring worm. my boy was exactly the same in january and he needed treatment for both. i'd be going to the vet. x

i hope its not ringworm or you could have it :( then you wont be able to touch any of the pigs for weeks :(

How do they get ringworm ? mine have never had it and dont think i have it ;D one of my piggies had the same ear problem before but before i took him to vets it had cleared up as it was only slightly white and didnt see it as a problem but Spikes ear is crusty which i dont think can be mites as mine have had mites before but just think its fungal :)

I'm not sure how you get ringworm, i think you can get it through loadsa things :(

Definitely get it sorted as soon as possible - you'll need a vet to tell you if it's ringworm. You can use miconazole cream (Daktarin) cream on the ear but remember it's not a substitute for taking the pig to a vet and getting the problem treated properly.

i was told to use caneston and lavender myrr from gg, was told not to use daktarin as it dries it out, and even when i used daktarin on me it because more itcy :-\

Well, gotta order from GG tonight otherwise ill have to go to the vets and mum wont take me :-\ Chrissie told me what is best so ill be getting some of that then trying it out O0

Sunshine had a funny ear, a little while ago I used some Galen Garden cream from Emma and that worked a treat. :)

i have great faith in chrissie's products but surely you need to see a vet just to confirm it's not ringworm :-\ you can always tell the vet if they say it is fungal, that you have some stuff on the way that you'd like to try first before any treatment they suggest O0
if i were you i'd just want peace of mind O0

But I assume if it doesn't get better you'll take the piggy to a vet?
Of course ? so far though i have only took 9 piggies to the vet :) soem to be sexed, some to have ivermec injections and one to get pts :-\ when i had hamsters i was always at the vets cause they got ill during old age and had them pts but that was before i got piggies who lasted longer and not many vet trips thank god ;D

cavy love - i know its not ringworm as mine have had this before - well one of my piggies have and it cleared up with no problem and this time i was just slightly concerned as its the same but it is crusty so must of been scratching it O0
I will ivermec him just incase it is mites but i highly doubt it is

oh right OK :) didn't know you could diagnose things sorry! :embarassed: well in that case I'd try the GG and if it doesn't help see a vet O0 :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

ILA you said you and your pigs have never had ringworm ? and then you said one did have it ?

I'm so confused ;D

I'm confused?

Anyway... you'll get good advice from Chrissie, that I'm sure of. But please get it checked out in person by someone if you can. Last thing you'd want is a herd of pigs with fungal.

Just for reference can fungal be passed from pig to pig without contact ie:Sunshine had it but the girls are underneath him could they have caught it without contact?

not too sure louise, maybe through you? :-\ best to wash hands and change clothing if one pig has fungal :)

maisy was in same cage with poppy and cookie and didnt pass it on to them, decided to give it to me instead ::)

thats what i thought when she said it- thats why i said to see a vet for peace of mind, thought it was me going 98) ;D

ooopsy worded it wrong ;D none of my piggies have had ringworm neither have i :D i meant one of mine have had a fungal problem on his ear before O0

oh so you don't know what ringworm looks like then, not from experience? ? i'm completely cufuzzled! ;D xx0
well i'd wahhs, mnnt to be sure it wasn't but it's up to you O0

sorry you can tell how confused i got there! ::) ;D i meant if it was me, i'd want to be sure it wasn't but it's up to you! ::) sorry xx0
