These are great thanks! I feel awful knowing I let this go on. One of the comments here said since they’re so new it definitely originated at their old home😕

It’s nothing you did so please don’t feel bad. Hopefully you’ll be able to get them on the road to recovery soon with the right treatment.

Right now they’re in their cage it’s very bare at the moment as all their stuff is in the wash but hopefully it’s comfortable enough. I’ve had to throw out the cardboard tunnel, I’m going to buy a fleece one so I can wash it.

I would put hay in a bigger tray or box. Or perhaps on the fleece directly. Do they have two hides?

I feel awful I can’t believe I didn’t notice it only got bloody about two days ago at first I though they were fighting but clearly not😕
When I went to the vet with mine he said that they can get it multiple ways - it may have come from their home but he did say that stress can also cause it so maybe them coming into their new home is the cause.

Ok so I’ve decided to bring them to the vet. The issue is I’ll have to wait until Monday because the vet that I want to take them to (it’s the one I bring my dog to I didn’t know they took Guinea pigs) charges £150 upfront then treatment costs for out of hours visits ie. Saturday/Sunday.

Usually yes but they’re being washed due to the ringworm.

oh I also saw that maybe your right...

(Sorry if this is sent twice it’s glitching) usually yes but all they’re stuff is in the wash so I had to improvise. I’m thinking about getting another hay container it’s just cleaner and that way they’ll have one each.

Piggies love nothing more than to walk/run through and sleep in hay. And they will likely pull it out the containers anyway. It’s up to you but it provides enrichment of sorts when it’s on the floor of the cage. Are you using plastic hay container and hides?

Fleece hides! They’re the cutest🥰 I will definitely consider hay pills for them to run around in! It usually looks like this with a cover over the top at the very end.

Are there two hides in there? Just follow the hygiene recommendations in the guide. Did you get some F10 to clean the cage?

Hi so I’m starting to think this isn’t ringworm it has gotten so much worse I’m going to bring her to the vet on Monday I can’t bring her today or tomorrow as it’s a £150 upfront cost for out of hours then treatment cost.

I think (from what others have said) that ringworm can become worse before it becomes better. Have you booked her in for Monday? I would get them both seen.

Only found a vet near me last night so I’m phoning today, fingers crossed they have an appointment🤞

I would stop using the cream. You’re, in a way, wiping the crime scene. Best to leave it and the vet sees it as is. I would also follow up the call with an email showing them photos. As clear as possible. Remember your strict hygiene regime. Hopefully they’ll see her Monday 🤞🏾

I agree! The vet needs to see what is wrong with it so they can give you medicine for them.

⚠️⚠️UPDATE⚠️⚠️ Went to the vet yesterday and he thinks they have some sort of parasite. He gave them some ivermectin and gave us some oral medication to give to them every day. He wants to see them again next week so I’ll update then.
