Fudge acting odd

I wonder if anyone could help me. My sweet boy Fudge is acting weird. My husband thinks it's since yesterday, but I'm thinking from today. He called me down to come and see Fudge. He was doing some kind of internal vibration that was reverberating through the entire (c&c) cage. He'd do it and you could hear it kind of echoing in the grids. That's the only way I can describe it. My husband says his appetite doesn't seem to be what it was from yesterday evening. They got some melon for the first time and he didn't seem too interested.

He's been eating hay as usual all day and getting excited when I say it's time to top them up. He also ate his pellets and veg as usual. A short while ago pigdad offered them carrot. Fudge took one bite out and that was it. He also turned down radish but ate some parsley.

Another thing he's done is a couple of times is to go as if to lie down for a nap, but he sort of flips onto his side showing his white belly. And he looks puffed up. He's not a screamer when I get him out usually, but he didn't 'fight' me this time. He's now upstairs in a box with me so I can keep an eye on him. I'm worried and trying not to cry :(

I'll try and capture the flipping thing. I put some hay in the box with him and he's eaten a little. But now back to just sitting staring into a corner.

Yea capture it on video and see if you can show us. I don't know what this could be. My boar vibrates loads. But only if he's annoyed or being dominant
 
I'll try. He's munching away again, and has done a few poos. I need to shower so going to see if pigdad can keep an eye on him.

I would let him go back with his mates. And keep an eye there. Pigs act different out of the cage I think
 
That's what I thought as well. But then he was flipping onto his side. I may do that for now I think. He's busy munching away now.

That's weird him flipping onto his side. I've only ever see a pig do that when popcorning
 
Same. But this didn’t look like popcorning. My husband wants to keep watch so he’s still upstairs. Who would have thought he’d care for them that much. They have a way of getting to you!

If he’s not acting weird I’ll pop him back in the cage.

Please switch from weighing weekly to weighing daily at the same time. Judging food intake by eye, as I know from my own experiences, can be very deceptive.

It would be good if you could take a well lit, clear video that you can also send to your vet.

Thank you. I’ve not seen him do it again. He’s eating hay for a couple of minutes then goes off to sleep. He also rushed off when I put him back in the cage.

I’ll weigh from tomorrow morning as is my usual routine. Thank you all.
 
It's so tough when you know something is off, but you can't quite identify what. I agree with daily weighing and just staying observant. If he's legging it away from you that's always encouraging. Feisty is good.

Thank you. I’m definitely keeping an eye. Hopefully it’s nothing.
 
Knowing something is amiss but nothing you can put a finger on is tough.
It also makes a vet trip more tricky under current circumstances but it might still be worth a visit just to check.

It really is. We’d all prefer they showed clear signs if there is something wrong! Tricky little blighters stealing our hearts eh. I’m hoping it was nothing and trying to be positive. Thank you 💕

Makes me think a spook even more now. Dot has been badly spooked over a bag of hay falling over once. Took her about a week to snap out of it. Just do what your doing and keep an eye out for any other signs of an illness
 
Sending you and Fudge hugs and hoping his odd behaviour has now gone and he’s back to his normal self x
 
Hope Fudge is ok, maybe just a minor tummy upset that's cleared now? I'd keep up the daily weight checks for a week and be a bit careful with the watery/gassy green veg for a few days, just to make sure x
