Floos got a swollen foot

amazingly floo kept his bandage on all night bless him, I got some melonin wound dressing and cut it to size smothered it in magnesium then wrapped it around his foot and secured it with micropore surgical tape, it only sticks to itself not skin or fur, so is perfect I always keep it in my medical box both home and piggys, I will leave it for 2 or 3 days then check it and if necessary replace it , where i have kept pigs for so long I just pick up things over the years and use them to suit pigs, a lot of it is common sense really, mind you I did check with Mr Beckingham about using magnesium first just in case its was poisonous, now i know its not I'll always have it in their medical things, as i said before mum used it when we was kids for splinters, thanks for the good wishes, had a long cuddle with Floo last night and told him he had us all worried, he did'nt seem too bothered lol just carried on eating his apple , he did try chasing my dog though, think he thought he was a hugh black piggy like himself, lol :D

Fingers crossed for him, glad he's feeling better.

Keep us informed :D x x

just found floos pulled the bandage off, little monkey! but the swelling has'nt got any worst the foot looks a little better, not much but a little bit every day will do for me, hes still taking his anti biotic very well , I'm going to soak his foot later and re bandage it with the magnesium

the foot is softer and I think the magneseium is doing that enabling the pus to dry up , got to go and get him rebandaged now, have to get my daughter to hold the little monkey the other day he nipped my boob, wont be doing that again

done floo and the magnesium is brilliant, I only touched the leg and pus poured out I was so delighted I shouted out hes going to be ok to hubby in the garden the pus is coming out, lord knows what the neighbours thought lol,
but the pus was so easy to get out most of his foot has got to be pus free now, just a matter of it drying out, yippeeeeee I'm so happy for him, I rebandanged it and he was fine jumping about like a nut case I only wish now i had found this magic cream when Bear needed help, maybe i could have saved him,
had a mixed day today first finding poor demon dead and then finding floos foot getting better,
so all of you go get some magnesium suphate paste from Boots

Glad it's all healing up, great stuff that magnesium sulphate, the old things work LOL x x

oh that is great Michelle! Will be getting some of that for sure!

So sorry to hear about Demon - do you have any idea what was wrong if anything?

no idea, he was fine yesterday so maybe a heart attack, I've just posted his pic on the rainbow bridge pets posting, he was a big cuddly pig who always like being fussed over, he was in with scrappy for ages and they adored each other poor scrappy was walking round and round in his run today as if to say I'm on my own, so scooby 2 was put in with him after cleaning out and scrubbing the run, (you never know), he was lying under his fiddle stix well part of him was, he was too big for it, and had only just died as he was still warm, he looked so comfy with his head on a kitchen roll tube, despite having his own igloo, I think this ones down to unknown, but I think it was a heart attack or similar,
luckly I went out to check them just now and scrappy was lying next to scooby 2 asleep so good sign of acceptence,

Aww, that's awful, but its good that he wasnt in any pain (not meaning to sound heartless)

I've seen the pic, he was lovely Michelle. Poor Scrappy, I'm sure he'll be fine with Scooby 2

totally agree with you at least he did'nt suffer, thats a good way to go if you had to choose instead of weeks of treatment and then die its unfair that way,
