hey guys, so I am looking to make up some fleece tunnels and stuff from my old fleece that i don't use anymore. I line my cages with hay now but still like to have fleece toys for my boys to play with. ive found loads of tutorials to make tunnels but i can't find what people use to reinforce the ends with? ive seen its a type of flexible plastic sheeting that they just cut into strips and sew in but i can not for the life of me find what the sheeting is called. i found it ages ago wrote it down but then threw the piece of paper away and my memory is rubbish! does anyone know or can anyone help me please? i really want to make mine reinforced as my pigs like to just squash all their fleece toys

What about using a Pringles tube(for example) but using the same material as that but wider and bigger (A tube of some sort from a super market). Then cutting out the metal bottom, (Usually people would use those Toilet rolls but they're not very tough, they just get ripped to shreds, so I'd suggest using the same sort of material as a Pringle Tube.
You can buy just hard tubes from a local pet shop, if you wanted to decorate the outside of the tunnel, you could some how add the fleece around it (but you have to be careful with glue and such like). Most of the tunnels and toys I have are shop-bought, but it's great if you make your own. :)

I can't think of what it is they use to reinforce the ends, but I can thinking of a plastic sheet, but I haven't got a clue how you spell it properly, so you won't know what I'm talking about. :( But is it Coroplast sheets?

Hope I helped a bit

I just made tunnels and put fiddlesticks in the end. When they get soiled I just wash them. Have also seen plastic tubing used

You can use plastic boning which is used in corsetry and dressmaking or as a cheap option use strips of plastic bottle sewn into the ends. You also make part-solid tunnels by using a section of PVC pipe and
attaching a fleece tunnel to one end.

thanks for your help guys i have ordered some bits and i will try plastic corset boning i will post pics of it when i have made it, and i also want to make some other stuff too like a big den I'm just researching the ideas and making patterns now, maybe if they are good enough i can sell them to some of you too if you want them :)

ive added a poll because it was fun but also if i can start making and selling them any profit i get will go towards me buying more cages and funding me rescuing any more piggies too which would be nice as i want to rescue all the time just can't really afford it easily right now
