Is it still good for absorbing like the Fitch?
 
yes, not quite as absorbent,but a good alternative.it lasts 5 to 7 days before i need to clean cage out,6x2 c andc cage.
 
I used to use Medibed (finely chopped straw) it’s almost absorbent as Fitch and very soft. I was just being lazy as it seems hard to buy online but now I guess I’ll be heading to the farmshop. If what is being said about Fitch is true then they’ve lost me as a customer.

I think I'm going to give this a try as Fitch is just getting too expensive.
 
Has anyone used both Fitch and Kaytee clean and cosy that could advise which one lasts longer (amount used from the bale as opposed to how much it absorbs)? I can't work out which one is more affordable - Fitch if bought in bulk works out at £15 a bale (up to £27 if buying just 1 bale) but not sure about the largest Kaytee bag?

Someone posted on here this week about a new supplier of paper bedding made from tea bag paper. It wasn't too expensive. Sorry I'm out at the moment and haven't got time to search it out.
