Fitch bedding out of stock?

Just getting to the last of my 20kg bale of Fitch, tried to order more on amazon and it’s out of stock? Even checked their own website and it’s out of stock too. Is it a seasonal product?
 
I just saw this as I use it too! I have emailed them to find out when they are getting some in as I have never known it to be seasonal and been using it for a couple of years now. I love Fitch so I will be really disappointed if there is a big issue with it!
 
Oh no. I need to buy next week coz I want a stock before we go for our 2-week holiday next month. Is shredded teabag paper the same as fitch?
 
They were out of stock of the usual Kaytee clean and cosy that I use too, seems someones gone on a paper bedding shopping spree XD I had a look on Fitch's actual site as I wanted to try it this time and all they had were 10kg bales.
 
Ive had to order a 10kg bale which is all they have in stock and it was £20!

I know..that's expensive. I want to look for another paper bedding at the moment but I don't know which to buy. I need to stock up before we go on holiday.

I just bought the Kaytee Clean & Cozy from Amazon. It'll be a back up for me just in case fitch bedding 20kg would still be out of stock by next month.
 
Not used fitch but I do use Aubiose when I go on holiday to put in the hutch so my piggy sitters don't have to clean it out if they don't want to (they don't want to!) Aubiose is hemp based and not paper based, just an idea could you use that instead?

I have just spoken to Fitch (they are local for me) and they are struggling to get a supply of paper and this will get worse in July as their supplier is closed for the whole month. They have also had a huge increase in demand from guinea pig owners and have become a victim of their own success. They have the odd 20kg bags in their shop, so if you are local you can give them a call and if they have one in stock you can pay over the phone and then collect from the store (they can't deliver these).

Not sure how i will manage in July as i use about 1 x 20kg bag a month at the moment.
 
I’m in Leicester unfortunately so will probably go back to the Vetbed and puppy pad combo until they get more in

You can still get the 10kg bags on-line but it works out very expensive.

Thanks Yvonne, same as you I use 1 a month sometimes more. I’ll probably go back to Megazorb for a while and wait, the 10kg are just too inefficient when you have a big cage. Pleased it’s not winter, Fitch always seems so cosy!
 
I just hope they get back on top of the demand as 10kg for £20 is really expensive. But I’ll still pay it as it’s good stuff!
 
I’m looking for Fitch bedding too as I use it for my piggies litter trays/hayboxes and my hamsters cages. I have 2 large hamster cages so carefresh is very expensive for me. I use 1 1/2 bales in one cage and 2 bales in the next cage. So that’s nearly 4 bales per cage clean £24 :yikes:it will cost. I can change the trays to the paper pellets bedding but it’s the hamsters I’m stuck for ideas with. I tried teabag paper but didn’t like all the tea sediment in it. :(:(
 
I looked the other day and they had single bales available. I'm hoping they stay in stock as I will need some soon, but haven't got time to pick it up at the moment

Hmmm unless I get a 10kg for the hamsters and then get a bag of back to nature for the piggies hay trays.
 
i sent an enquiry to Fitch company,due to high demand do not have 20kgs bags in stock,but have 10kg bags !I'm using megazorb with bliss/rivera bedding on the top !
 
i ordered the 10KG bag and 2 weeks later I'm already half way through it. I really should have weighed it first as it was tiny!
 
I'm just currently using kaytee while there's no fitch bedding. It's almost the same as fitch.
 
Absolute rubbish blaming supply - it's paper ! they've just added a nice selection of 4kg bags for £15. It's pure greed !

I have been using Fitch for years and am absolutely fuming as overnight they've just doubled the price. Now need to find a new source of bedding.
 
Totally agree I've had to buy another 10KG bag for £18 but when I weighed it, it was only 7.5kg and even says that on the postage label for weight...
 
:yikes: Anyone any idea what bedding i could try for my hamsters when I run out. Still got some of the 10/7kg Fitch left. I’m using back to nature in the piggies litter/hay trays.
 
I stopped buying Fitch ages ago after what I'll describe as a debate with them swapped to aubiouse which my hamsters love and dig in etc...
Can get a bale of aubiouse for £9 at the farm shop which they lift into the car for you. Just use it for the hamsters as piggies on newspaper and hay.
