Good luck to you and the little lady - the video you made about her and her cage mate was very very moving - I really hope she can pull through all this and be a success story... All 38 paws here (that includes mine...) crossed for her.

Sorry, I'm a little late with my post, but this is very good news - I'm so glad she's more comfortable, and you must be delighted, of course.
 
Fanny is pretty bright this morning and was up at the front of her cage bars the same as the others that are indoors for her morning grass and veg. Cage cleaned and plenty of good wee in there! I think she had a poop party overnightrolleyes and she has been having a chat through the bars to Splodge in the cage next door. After all that morning activity she is having a little rest. Her wound is doing well, antibiotics, vit c and probiotic in this morning although she was not thoroughly impressed by the second syringe so have left her to settle for the morning and keep popping in to check on her.
Fingers still crossed as she has a long way to go until a full recovery but she seems to have come through the op well.

Good on you, Fanny! You are a fighter, and your mummy is fighting for you as well!

Sending her my love and best wishes that she can pull through, despite all the demands on her abused body.
 
So pleased to hear she's bright and alert, when you consider how she was only a day or so back. I'm sending healing vibes, but do hope she's now turned the corner.

Had to smile at the idea of a "poop party" .....

Well today Fanny has mosty been eating veg with some hay but is munching away at the burgess blackcurrant and oregano sample packs that she has been having ever since she arrived (the vets always gives us samples each time we go in and she loves it oregano is meant to help with stress and help digestion, has a natural prebiotic and has a good calcium to phosporus ratio which is ideal to help prevent more crystals forming. Just got to track down the cranberry version for her then it will be perfect!

She is doing really well and her wound is very neat so all good thus far -c
 
Quick update Fanny is still bright and breezy in herself and eating and drinking well :)
 
Thanks for the update, I've been popping back from time to time. Glad to hear she's doing so well.

On the 9th Fanny weighed in at 603g just before her surgery, today she is weighing in at a respectible 736g :)) and is feeling very happy in herself, her op site is healing well and her apetite is amazing and she drinks a lot on her own now.

What a lovely, spunky lady - a happy future for her! GO on, Fanny!
 
The operation and diet designed with the correct levels of calcium etc for a piggy with bladder stones is helping but she still has a minor ammount of sludge which is clearing with 3 15ml fluid sessions daily. Poor Fanny is still having trouble shifting her cys**** and has been on several antibiotics but is now on a large dose of septrin (finally convinced the vet that 0.4ml was not enough) and she may need to be on antibiotics for a fair while, she is fine in herself although loosing a little weight as the fluids seem to make her feel a bit full to eat sometimes but she is bright in herself and a real cheeky madam.

The vet is keeping an eye on the sludge and a second custotomy may be necessary but we are really hoping not to have to put her through that.
Her vets bills are astronomical (£272.36 and still going up) but well worth it for such a lovely girl, it is sad that her cystitis did not clear quickly but it may well go with time with the odd recurrance but as long as it is manageable and she is happy we will keep doing our absolute best for her.

Thank you for the update, I've been wondering how she was doing - sorry it's not better news, but she certainly sounds a little fighter.
 
Fanny has responded very well to a higher dose of antibiotics has put on lots of weight and her UTI seems to have fianlly been beaten -c

Here she is out on the grass with her best friend Splodge who came in with her.

AWWW - she is such a beauty! On that last photo she reminds me of my teddy girl Nia who has a similar eye patch of the same colour. And splodge of my first own (peruvian/coronet) boy - same nose!

I wish her the best; cystitis can be such a pain to shift... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her. At least she IS enjoying life again, and that is well worth your effort!
