Is there any particular reason that this is referred to as 'For rabbits' and not guinea pigs?
It looks to me like timothy hay? Should I not purchase this particular bag for my piggies?

I’ve always wondered that. I’d be interested to know how your piggies get on with it. I sometimes find Burgess Hay overtly spikey and potential hay poke worries me

Mine used to love it. It's cheaper for me with 6 piggies to buy in bulk from someone like Haybox or Timothy Hay Company though. I suspect it's marked for rabbits because of the danger of hay pokes, they don't want to be sued! I need to balance the sharp spikey hay fear with better for grinding teeth, especially as they eat more because they really like it. I feed softer timothy/meadow abundantly in their hay boxes and spread a handful of hard spikey flat on the floor of the cage where they can safely (hopefully) munch it without burrowing into it.

I have burgess excel as their treat hay that I out in loo roll tubes. It is thicker than the Timothy and meadow hay I feed them. Luna seems to enjoy chomping down on it.

I emailed Burgess and the reason it's advertised for bunnies is a VAT dodge! As bunnies can be eaten by humans, (😔) their food is classed differently for tax purposes. Sorry its a bit of a ewe🐑 reason! I've found this hay to be fantastic and also lame, as ever, hay supplies are definitely not consistent!

I had heard that before but had discounted it thinking it couldn't possibly be right!

Woah! That's a reason I wasn't expecting, but okay - Mine have a mixture of that and timothy hay at the moment. They're enjoying it
