Evie has a hay poke

😂 I can’t believe no-one gave you any extra coriander for your own hay poke pigglepuggle- that’s such an outrage!
I love coriander and buy it every week but I haven't been allowed to eat any for about 5 years now, except maybe the dregs that have gone shrivelled or slimy which isn't of sufficient quality to serve to my piggy superiors. Its a tough life but I know my place, lurking in the servant's quarters making curry out of the wilting veg the ruling piggly upper class reject :)

Evie has just had her carbomer eye gel and posed just long enough after the rocket had run out for me to get a quick photo. I’ll give her a clean up later (if the others don’t do it for me) before she has her next drop. Still very cloudy but looks much less sore than it did on Tuesday afternoon. 0D79F869-D068-4AB2-A587-645D8178D24A.webp935BC69A-1DE5-4114-9F1D-E30E8B775D5A.webp

Evie sounds just like Kiki with those eye drops, you certainly go through plenty of coriander 😆 Hope she is better soon

Oh bless her. I remember my late Lily had a real nasty hay poke once and both the emergency vet and my usual vet said to try the drops but it's likely to need removing. Well the tough lady made a full recovery! It did take a few weeks but I remember when I found her her eye was about 3 times it's normal size

Evie had her check up today and the vet is pleased with progress. We can reduce the drops from 4 times a day to twice a day each. Halving the handling will be most welcome news to Miss Evie and myself. I foolishly wore a v neck top today and have a lovely pinch mark from one of Miss Evie’s lightning fast nips.

Aw I’m sorry that she nipped you, I was trying to check Esme’s incisors last night and she bit me. Those little piggy teeth come keen! but I’m glad her eye is healing and that the vet was pleased with her progress x

Good news that the eye is improving but worry you were nipped. They can be crafty when they want to be.

Oh dear! Sorry that Esme bit you. These naughty sows are rather keen with their teeth. Don’t they realise we are only trying to help?

This is why I have my very own PPE ( Priscilla Protection Equipment) :D
I have only myself to blame. Poor choice of top. Compounded by failure to don my apron before catching the little darling. And then taking too long to squeeze the drop out of the bottle. Lesson learned!

I’ve got a few holey t shirts from where Betty used to bite and had a few red marks on the neck. Mabel’s also a nipper if we’re slow to give her the food she wants in the order she wants it. No idea how a preciously neglected rescue pig became so spoilt and demanding so quickly but I’m sure it’s my own fault!

Madame Evie would like me to update her thread. She’s very happy to report she’s been signed off from the vet as her ulcer has healed. And she’s delighted that her interactions with me have reverted to the usual twice a day cage tidying, poop sweeping, hay replenishment and veggies delivery rather than the 8 times a day chase, catch, battle with the drops and nip as swiftly as possible that she endured for 10 days. Her jaws were getting tired with all that nipping of exposed skin!
