This lovely lady is Ermentrude, and these 3 bouncing babies are a few days old (at a guess). She is a bag of bones, has obviously put everything she can into growing the babies, and has nothing left for herself. She is likely to be pregnant again (bred back to back). She is only 700g, the babies are 130g.

She has an upset stomach at moment, so I'm keeping everything crossed that she perks up.

Here she is:

Her babies - Zebedee (looks like peru cross), Dougal (Merino) and Dylan (Sheltie) - lord knows how she had 3 such different babies (if they ARE hers!):

to be continued...

She's trying so hard to be a good mum and is only a baby herself. She is such a sweet piggy, very trusting. She is filthy dirty, as are her babies (even though they're only tiny), covered in muck and crusty feet and ears. She also has hair loss.

I can't believe anyone would breed from a sow in such poor condition, let alone breed her back to back mallethead

If she makes it, she will stay here in my piggy herd for good.

Poor little girl. Will keep everything crossed for her and the babies. :rose

Makes my blood boil that people can be so cruel to animals.

Poor girl

I really hope she pulls through, I know with you taking care of her she will stand the best possible chance. How can anyone be so cruel to such sweet little animals :0

The babies are adorable though :)

Awwww poor girl! Some people are evil! Hope shes makes it and finds a safe loving home with you. x

What a lovely girl and she has produced three cute babies. I really hope that she gets better x

Sweet little thing, these young mums always pull at my heart strings, they try so hard to do their best by their babies despite being in such poor health. It's criminal that humans get in the way of these kind creatures being allowed to nurture their offspring in good health. God speed Ermentrude, keep going, you have well deserved peace and luxury waiting just around the corner.:)

Gorgeous piggies, all of them. Wishing Erm and the gang better health and happiness

poor piggy, you can see she has been badly looked after before coming to you.

her babies are lovely!

This little piggie will thrive in the excellent care you arer giving her. Cant wait to hear how she gets on..

She is soooooo much like Zephyr! It makes you realise just how many piggies like her (bred too young) are out there.

I look forward to watching her and her babies progress.

she really reminds me of Zephyr too, same haunted look about her! Also now hand feeding these babies, so similarities there too! They are all looking ok, just had them out for a feed and now going back to bed!

aaw i hope she ok. I'm glad she is with you so you can look after her, she is really cute she looks a bit like craig xx

BIG WHEEKS for poor Ermentrude from the tribe!

Poor girly - she looked so very sad when I met her yesterday. She and her bubs were filthy and obviously so very negelected and malnourished:(.

Keeping everything crossed that they all do well. I shall expect to see Ermentrude delicately twirling a daisy in her piggy lips next time I visit :))

Teresa xx

Thank you everyone - she made it through the night and is eating for England, as are her babies (they attacked a carrot like miniature rottweilers!). They are still feeding on Lactol as she doesn't seem to have much milk :(

Tonight is bath night - I've never seen such filthy pigs, and what I thought was dirt on the edges of her ears seems to be dead black skin :(

She's such a sweet natured pig though, despite the conditions she's been kept in.

Poor Ermintrude, I am really glad she is with you and is being cared for so well. I hope Ermintrude's tummy is feeling better. Your description of the babies attacking a carrot really tugged at my heartstrings, wishing them and their mummy all the best.

Here's keeping everything crossed that all goes well. Makes me really sad when I hear stories like this, but unfortunately it happens so often. :aLJFBQ00151070111C:

AWWWW - I'm sure that they will enjoy being clean piggies once they have recovered from their shock!

Mummy is a beauty and those boys are simply stunning!

Awwwwwww good grief the poor little darling :( she looks so much better for a bath and her little babies are beautiful :) :) :) I really hope she goes from strength to strength now she is with you :) I hope she isn't pregnant again, but if she is, at least she has a chance to be more healthier and stronger and safer :) xxxxxxxxx
